Not making mad dollaz. Have collected a $100 check that went towards Maschine, and am $40 into my next check. Nelly has built a pretty good group of active posters/commenters. I am exploiting that group of people as we speak, and they are proving fruitful. Think I'll get back on this for reals. I wouldn't mind the $500 a mo, actually. Getting close to 100 followers, but probably 80% of them are dead. Will reinvigorate my peeps.

I make ten dollars on a bad day, been hitting higher and higher amounts as followers increase, getting up into 18-23 territory

i've seen blogs with 54 followers have 23 comments in a couple hours, and i've seen blogs with 2136 followers have 2 comments in two days... the difference between the two is quality of blog post.

Still a hundred bones is a hundred bones. You've basically become a self employed freelance writer, and on a topic of your interest no less.
I've written some big posts on dsf, might go back and harvest some for blog posts
Might do a series of posts on music theory. Could write a ton on that and it'd probably be helpful to some people and give a point of reference for theory question threads.

No problem SunkLo! I'm glad i can just copy/paste it.

The key is dedication, really. You just have to force yourself to find time to sit down for 45 minutes and do the tedious legwork. After a couple of weeks it starts to snowball when people see that you're in it to win it. Writing down ideas as they come to you during the day is the best advice that i can give, it saves you from writer's block and taking up too much time thinking about what to write.

Don't use your best posts as your first few, save some of the good ones for when you have 100+ followers, for maximum impact.

when i started my blog in may, i stayed within the SNH circle and had maybe 5 followers that were not from here.

when the first wave died, my traffic took a huge hit and i would update sporadically. i started doing the technique randomly on the 7th (although i spent about 3 hours doing work/research that day, but have only been doing 45min since) , and posted at least once a day.

The results did not take long:

i wouldn't mess around with amazon links and stuff (they make your site look gaudy and greedy imo), but if you want to look into other advertising streams, go for it. there's linkbucks, etc etc for that... personally i will stick with adsense as it is working just fine and growing every day.

another way to get noticed is to join a community. i listed a semi-comprehensive list of most of the communities in this post, so you should read that if you're interested

tomorrow im gonna go through a rigorous commenting and following schedule. had a busy day today couldn't really get alot done.

I have to figure out how to post more quickly. Blogger's commenting system is so frickin slow, and then half the new people I'm following have word verification. Plus loading up 30 blogs in the browser gets slow.... Have to get faster faster faster!

Easy tiger, there are ways of doing that but you risk looking like mister come @ me bro, who appears to be blatantly scripting. i could write you a similar jscript but it really would make you look like a spam bot and still wont bypass the captchas

other than that, you could compile a list of the people who have that separate window for comments (such as mister CAMB's comment section), as that is much faster for leaving comments. then run through that list first before others.

i agree, it's tedious but honestly for the time i put in vs. the money that comes out, it makes me want to quit my real job haha

No, I feel you. For the time being, I'm just tracking back to my commenters' blogs. But I need to get a good solid list going again so I can blaze a bit better.

Oh, but I've gotten a lot of good followers though, just want to point that out. Good quality people.

Yeah and this is like day 2 for you... once you get to (almost) day 20, they really start adding up, and you can refresh your ad$ense every half hour and see a jump. it's worth the work.
