often the same people dropping that shit-arsed argument about Norway, as if one somehow is more worthy than the other because people are too thick to apply their own values and ignore the media coverage they're ignorantly being spoonfed; the same media coverage they're lapping up and valuing is the same they're denouncing with the comparison - again, ridiculous
and the shit, shit, shit jokes... i mean, really bottom-of-the-barrel, is FINE, ofcourse, how could it not be cos after all, it would be stupid to think that there are some things that although you CAN joke about, a) its not really funny to, and b) its not sensible to
i COULD make a load of jokes about dead Norwegians... cos people are gona do that in the future
but im not thick as pigshit and know that sometimes its responsible and sensible to wait to make jokes about serious events, because my moral landscape isn't described in a few episodes of South Park
this kind of moralising and telling people what's 'sensible' is just some sort of control mechanism.
its about self control
not controlling others

Facebook is going nuts about this.
This group has been "liked" a lot: "Amy Winehouse dies, everyone's upset. Soldier dies, the world doesn't care."
Funny how many people don't openly show such care about our troops until someone of considerable fame dies, eh?

We don't need to care about soldiers or amy winehouse,They made their choices let's care about our own.

I think every person's death should be respected such each person should be respected regardless of what it did in its life. Even bad people have their reasons to do the things they do. Anyways calling some one bad is just a matter of perception imo.
Amy winehouwe was a great artist and I thank her for her contribute to the music world. She clearly showed she was capable of expressing herself in her own way, respect for that. Too bad that we live in this current difficult state. It would have been different in any other situation but it is what it is and there's nothing to be done or said.
RIP Amy. May your soul be blessed!

im with noam
end of the day if all your worried about is her family hearing and being offended then you need some more respect for the dead (and therefore for life)

telling offensive jokes is different to offending people directly
if you joke about jews dying in the holocaust you know its offensive regardless of who's around to hear it

in response to the 'hidden force' comment, i'll quote myself

there's loads of things you CAN do
what you SHOULD do is a different matter entirely
if it doesn't bother you fine, sweet, doesn't mean its the right or sensible thing to do
if its just harmless fun then to you then thats what it is
but it seems vulgar and embittered to me, spurned on by the bizarre comparison to events in Norway, that apparently justify the negativity towards the behaviour which lead to her death
aside from that, there's just so many people with shit opinions on it... like... really shit...
one of them i've seen being thrown around is the whole '27 club' thing, comparing her with Hendrix etc. and a loada people spitefully claiming things like 'oh my god cant believe she's been compared with Hendrix!?! she only had 2 albums' etc. etc.
if thats the case what's her death got to do with anything, comparing their music is one thing, but in comparing their deaths they're both as bad as each other
and its all been brought about by the enormous media storm thats surrounded her wherever she's been and whatever she's done
i think a lot of it is sexist and overtly materialistic, judging her primarily on appearance and absolutely, relentlessly assassinating her character at every turn
think how many GENUINE stories of her you've read, and then how many half/quarter page images you've seen with tiny captions or 2 line paragraphs explaining some hashed up, unconfirmed glorified chinese whisper disguised as a 'story'...
basically anyone who feels anything other than this was just a sad event, has been emotionally hijacked by tabloid sensationalism...
im not painting her as a martyr, but the media as sadistic and people as stupid and cheaply bought

it's hard to to feel empathy for others when you are young and have not experienced real pain and suffering yet, misguided notions of misanthropy will pass as adulthood sets in

Gotta love the British gallows humour and just "our" way of dealing with various tragedies
July the 7th, terrorist attack. London's response... "Is that it? A couple of bombs? We've been here for three thousand years, son, even the blitz couldn't so much as put a wobble on our stiff upper lips."
