if there were aliens roaming around earth secretly they would have to be far ahead of us in evolution. like 10,000 years ahead maybe even more and far more intelligent. i sort of believe in ghosts not really sure. one time i woke up and i saw the girl from the ring looking at me while i was in my bunk bed and she was down below. i was so scared i pinched myself to see if it was a dream but felt the pain and knew it wasn't, i could have just been hallucinating but it was some real scary shit. i do believe in higher life forms than ourselves or some sort of life on another planet. possibly in a new dimension these beings could be made of light i don't know it's insane what i have been reading lately.

I never claimed I can disprove it, I don't know how many times I need to say that, you're just moving the goalposts there. I asked what reason anyone could have to believe they exist, and didn't agree with your response.

I mean, let's simplify the argument, because it seems a few of you are having trouble with it -

Scenario 1
Person A: Ghosts absolutely do not exist.
Person B: How can you be so sure?
Person A: I just am.

Scenario 2
Person A: Ghosts are real.
Person B: Oh cool, how do you know?
Person A: This guy I met a this bar one time swore he saw one and I believe him.

Now, you'll notice that in both scenarios 'person A' is an idiot. In both scenarios they are willing to believe something as if it were an absolute truth (water is wet, high heat is hot etc). In both cases they have removed all doubt and they are 100% sure their statement is true with no basis in fact.
What i'm saying is, most people who say that something is not real are 99.9% sure, but there still remains the 0.1% of doubt.
If anyone says to me that they are 100% sure that ghosts do not exist then I say you are a fool.

Oh, so we could have stopped this when I said it's a negligible chance. If you'd just said "yeah they could exist, but it's less likely than superman/spiderman/batman existing" I would have thought fair enough.

I know you probably thought this was a really profound post but it isn't. I don't even understand how you've managed to link ghosts and aliens via talking about the galaxy.
Explain why there are no videos of ghosts during the day, why almost every ghost picture is blurry and photoshopped, why no ghost has ever been caught on terrestrial camera? Why no ghost has ever been caught on CCTV? Why no ghost has ever undeniably shown up at a party/any large social gathering so that at least more than 2 easily suggestible people can see it?

consciousness and it's distribution is something we 'know' very little about. Of course it's good practice to use logic in the process of elimination of what 'is', but if the logic was biased to begin with, as will the conclusion be.

not believing in something is fine, but not believing and not investigating it fully isn't going to help much. even if you come to the conlusion you began with , its better to throw yourself into it to find out.

We've learnt a lot over the last 10 thousand years or so too feel the permission to make assumptions based on previously 'known' concepts, but to assert a definitive view-point on something as dynamic and mulit-faced as 'energy' and the consciousness that sprung from within it ,from just 1 singular vantage point, is to jump the universal gun just a bit.

What are you on about? Noone is even talking about what constitutes or enables conciousness. Writing in riddles and weird prose doesn't make anything you are saying have any validity
The "multifaced" nature of energy? Care to elaborate what you mean here? We never just lose energy randomly to unknown circumstances so I don't understand why you think we have something "missing" there. Conservation is always explicable.
It's actually ridiculously hard to follow what you are saying, what do you mean by 1 singular vantage point? Our dimensions? Or do you not actually mean anything by it and now you are going to jump on whatever random idea pops into your head (heck I just gave you one...)

Personally, I just believe conciousness is the manifestation of the logic gates in our mind, which are self referential. I don't think our mind is too different from the way binary is converted into code and text, just that it does it a lot more efficiently and to a much greater level of complexity. It's not that difficult to make a "self aware" A.I. thesedays, however the AI we create is not based on biological mathematical concepts but on physical mathematical concepts. It has conciousness in some sense.

That's quite clearly a shadow that originates from down the hall. The shadow carries onto the floor and towards the camera. I'm talking about a close up, undeniable encounter with a corporeal form. Not some fucking bullshit shadow cast from down the hall.
The real question is, why are people so happy to believe in ghosts? It's something I cannot fathom.
