I just take acid every now and then, or some other natural psychedelic, and that lets me think clearer, at least

Hah but does that insight persist? It's always been pretty fleeting in my experience.

I have heard things about low dose LSD as a nootropic. Just below threshold doses to activate that free-associative lateral thinking. Maybe someday I'll give it a shot if I get my hands on a lot of acid and a way to accurately measure out micro-doses.

Alphabrain Day 5 - More of the same. My coming up time on these is ~45mins at the moment if I take them with breakfast, so I am nicely in the zone when I get to work. Found myself with an urge to take my notebook out and make notes on the train this morning with a few ideas that got triggered off from the podcast I was listening to.

Also seem to be approaching my work in much more structured fashion. If, for example, I have four systems I need to check for action items every morning, then I'm finding myself hitting one, completely emptying it before moving onto to the next, instead of just haphazardly cutting between the four as I usually do. Email inbox management technique has also gone off the deep end, in terms of how I'm arranging stuff before even starting to respond/action.

Buzzy sensation is still there, and got the speedy vibe back today as well, so going to put yesterday down to not having enough sleep Monday night and take it from there.

You're really teasing me w/ this shit. I've been brain dead, like totally flat lined the last two days. Got about 3 hours of work done in 2 days. I don't know what the deal is, and then I'm reading about you turning into Office Max (superhero) and I'm like, yeah, that sounds nice.

Actually, very lasting in my experience. Some of those experiences might last my whole life, good or bad. Certain concepts I wouldn't have considered without that, I think. For example, you do not consciously know how to speak, until you realise that you don't then shit fucks up (man that was weird, forgetting how to talk while tripping my tits off!). "What is money?" is another.

I also feel very refreshed mentally after doing mushrooms, like my mind has been cleaned and polished.

Wub, do you think you could change the way you do things in a similar way without drugs, maybe after training?

Very much so, and I have before.

With this sort of thing, there will always be a honeymoon placebo period where any perceived changes might be as a result of believing that whatever new thing I'm introducing is somehow working it's tendrils around me in ways hitherto unknown.

But that's not to say that focus can be learnt. I still find myself to be very distracted, as one does when working on an Internet ready computer for 12hrs a day. The focus that I've found in the last two ways since coming back to the office is something I don't usually experience though...I'm more geared towards getting stuff done than procrastinating as I would previously.

Again though, that's not to say this is actually as a result of the drug or the aforementioned placebo effect. I'm doing to finish the course (15 days at current dosage), then cycle off for two weeks and see how I feel.

Yeah ultimately my hopes with piracetam is just a means to habit formation. Burn some new productive neural pathways that might linger permanently, assuming they're continually reinforced and maintained. My problem is basically tons of gas in the tank but no ignition. Whatever gets that ball rolling, whether it be chemical or placebo, has fulfilled its purpose.

Regarding the psychedelic insight, I agree that its benefit still persists afterwards. I'm definitely able to think in certain ways and adopt certain perspectives that would have been impossible before. But it's still never nearly as vivid after the fact. You can't compare that fiery omniscience to the embers of residual knowledge you're left with once you've come down. That understanding becomes latent instead of being seared into your consciousness. Doesn't propel you in nearly the same way.

At least, in my experience and those of people I've talked to.

Edit: why is embers in the word filter?

Alphabrain Day 6 - More of the same in terms of sensations etc. Working from home, and wasn't as distracted as I usually am when I do so (using the iPad etc). Also the kitchen is looking really fucking clean. Finding my recollection of smaller details is improved as well, a throwaway 5-digit number I was using on an order early this morning is still clear in my mind, despite my not spending any time or effort to remember it, which is amazing. Also found my Spanish language use has increased exponentially, yesterday was the first time that I felt I spoke more Spanish than English in the office since I've been here.

Thinking about conjugating some of those irregular Spanish verbs makes me want to pile on nootropics. Que dolor...

You're fucking killing me wub. I remember reading passages out of my memory... now I'm down to this: I need a pill organizer because when taking my pills, and I have a pill bottle in my hand, I can't recall if I just took the pill, or I was about to take the pill...

You won't have. It has no value of anything to anyone except to me and one of my sales team, and even then it'll be useless come this time Monday. But the level of recognition I'm having today is proper wow factor.

See my previous comments about being more focused and less prone to distractions whilst on this stuff.

Such recognition. Very memory. Much recall. Wow.

I'm gonna try to detox from coffee so I have a better baseline to judge Piracetam at. Don't wanna be juiced on caffeine but also don't wanna feel like shit from withdrawal.

Pretty much, yeah. As I've mentioned already, going to finish the course, cycle off for two weeks, then maybe try my own stack. Thinking choline + piracetam, but need to do more research into that before I do.
