its sort of an international problem when a major world power just starts invading countries
Because the US has its own interests in Ukraine.
It also becomesa bigger problem when another major world power involves itself in someone else's national affairs.

Bingo.
The US already invested up to 5 billion dollars into Ukraine. Ukraine is right at Russia's doorstep and
Russia is emerging with China as a rival to the American empire, intending to issue a new, gold standard, currency that is supposed to rival the US dollar.
I can't find my sources now, but I believe that American gov officials had been quoted that they're hoping to have American military bases on Ukrainian soil.
Name a recent large scale foreign involvement by the US that had no selfish motives.

Georgia is supposed to join Nato as well. Russia is being surrounded.
If you introduce an alternative to the US dollar, you get a knife in the ass. Read your history books (or watch You Tube).

Predictions?
Last night ITN News were comparing it to Germany and 1938

I'd like to think diplomacy can go a bit further nowadays.

Crimea becomes a very messy new 'state', lackluster sanctions against Russia, Putin smiles smugly as he knows he could kick the ass of any political leader in the world.

Good on putin i say.
Obama or Cameroon would only do the same to protect their interest and citizens. Only difference is that Russia have a strong leader who isn't a fucking pussy like us who would just try hold a million meetings and make some poncey threats and wait until its all too late
