i was at elevate last night here in san diego... first dubstep show i've been to where the ladies might have outnumbered the guys.
LOTS of people- much respect to puppy kicker, yona, seda, and osal8 for destroying the dance floor...

Have you tried showering and maybe changing into some nice clothing that doesn't include the same hoodie you wear to every DMZ/FWD?

IDM alert?

I would need to thoroughly vet your dubstep tastes first ...

1) that wasnt to suggest that "women go to dubstep raves"...
i said that cos u said sum lark about not wanting to rub up on men, so the first thing that came to my mind is how thats been far from the case on certain nights...
2) sumbody else already said there was lots of girls at that night..
3) dont speak like im chattin breeze, cos ur just paintin a silly picture of all dubstep nights bein full of guys. if thats ur impression of it then thats fine u can think that, just dont generalise it cos not everyone finds it the case.
TAKE THAT HOODIE OF YOUR HEAD AND HAVE A GOOD LOOK AROUND YOU...
YEAH YOU SAY ALL THIS, I'VE SEEN THIS FROM THE BEGINING DUBSTEP NIGHTS ARE STILL BOYS/MANS DANCE WHICH DOES'NT ATTRACT MUCH GIRLS IS IT THE MUSIC OR WOT... AND YES I CAN SAY WHAT I LIKE

in the begining, ye it was full of guys and u can still see signs of that, at nights like FWD and DMZ (the first original nights)...
but you would be ignorant to think that it hasnt changed even slightly and that there hasnt been an influx of women over the years. fair enough its not funky numbers, but its definately not all guys anymore.
the posts in this thread just show that.
also your gonna be at why not. ill be very suprised if there isnt a decent amount of girls. so you can take your hoodie down and have a look around.

No disrespect to any ladies on here but the majority of girls follow the crowd, if dubstep gets more popular there'll be more birds. Blokes tend to look into music more than wimmin.
I see fair few birds anyway, but dubstep aint really grindin music though.

I totaly agree with that
truth
nonsense. the ladies love getting sweaty even more than the lads!
This too

Of course, my original statement falls into the classic male trap of assuming that all girls prefer music with groove, melody, sickly sweet vocals, etc. as opposed to harder, darker sounds. Its not that simple.
I reckon there's probably a general trend in that direction but, looking outside dubstep, you'll see a fair few girls at a Dillinger Escape Plan gig or a breakcore night but, nonetheless, they'll be significantly outnumbered by boys.
The debate is somewhat clouded by the Hardcore Continuum idea of swings from masculine to feminine sounds e.g. drum & bass to speed garage. Does it always work like that?
Its all subjective but at the majority of dubstep nights it seems there are always a good proportion of women regardless of whether the music emphasis is on harder/ravier strains of dubstep or more mellow sounds.
EDIT: Also, can some more girls comment on this? Cos there's a fair bit of casual sexism/borderline-misogynism going on in this thread from a few people.
