Just watched Suicide Club for the 2nd time. Definitely one of my fave Japanese horror films. Starts off gory and distgusting to the point of being funny, but slowly morphs into a sublime philosophical metaphor. Great dialogue, great acting, really memorable characters. Even better the 2nd time around, would definitely recommend it to any heavy horror film fans.

About to watch Under The Skin. It seems to really divide film fans in two
groups which is always an interesting premise.

Watched interstellar yesterday and watched momento (just clocked they're both Nolan films lol). Anyways good films imo but for both of them I found myself predicting what would happen and then that basically happens, don't think this took away too much from the films for me though

Yeah kind of feel the same. Very unsettling though.
Worked at a studio for a while and the guy who did the sound for this film was the manager
of the London facility. I just figured out this is the film he couldn't tell us anything about
Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter kind of has the same visual language, but it does tell a
really good story. I'd recommend that instead.
*edit:

- I didn't know the guys she picks up in the van are actually not actors. This
makes it a bit more interesting imo.

Great, great movie. Some of the best dialogue I've seen/heard, and David Strathairn as Edward Murrow nailed it. Wish I'd seen it sooner.

Black Rain- No idea why I finishe dthis, it was bloody awful.
Pretty in Pink- duno how this is rated so highly, as it was a abit shit. Main character basically gets walked over from most of the film, then goes with the guy that was a dick to her (the other choice being super camp hyper friendzone m8) and only one person (who appears like twice) tells the "bad" people to fuck off etc
Sin City 2- Pretty much nonsense but I just really like the style of it, the first one is a fav of mine so meh. Micky roukes voice tho lol. Mans talking with a mouth full of gravel after smoking cigars for a lifetime. Give batman voice a good run for its money

Just saw this yesterday on the big screen. Very entertaining. Good acting and I was also
quite impressed with the music at times. It's such an ambitious plot though.
If Inception and LOTR were "epic", then what's this

It just kept going.
Think I was in the theater for about 3 hours and 15 minutes. They should make
an exemption and put in a break.

yeah i saw it in the cinema too. i found the music and the sound effects pretty average. the acting was ok but nothing special but the script come one it would be a entertaining film if it wasn't so ridiculous it made me fucking angry...

- that guys appears in the nasa and goes the next day to a wormhole without studying a shit about the mission, driving a different spacecraft to the one he used to control 20 years ago. then they appear there without a defined plan and they all have different moral positions, they are all the time caring exaggeratedly for their family (especially for being the "most intelligent people in earth ") and then they are constantly acting like kids in the space lol.
Then nolan seems to corner all the missing parts of the plot in a single thing and solve it with IT WAS THE LOVEEE THE LOVE EXIST IN OTHER DIMENSION
FUCK OFFFF! how do love put a fucking worm hole next to saturn that takes them to habitable planets? how do they travel in time when they said it wasn't posible?
And then if we think about it, the message of the film is morally wak. like they didnt learn nothing of all this shit. they destroyed the world and instead of changing the system of life that have taken them to get nearly extinct they do the same shit but in another place, yeah ok nolan

Yeah we don't even have to poke holes.. the plot is like swiss cheese.
I go into these movies with the same mindset as with The Raid or something similar.
It's gonna be over the top and I think the music underlined that quite well. The church
organ was a nice touch. Sub was ridiculous in the theater.
It won't be a mandatory watch for film students, but we do have a new Han Solo
and his R2D2 is weird as fuck.
