Looks like they had to print 500 slightly different sleeves instead of 500 identical ones. I can imagine that would cost a bit more.
I do agree though, it's a bit pricey.
Sticker innit (or were you joking?)

Haha no I wasn't joking. Doesn't look like a sticker on that photo but you're probably right.

Triple Vision usually gets most Swamp releases as well:
http://www.triplevision.nl/label/Swamp+81/
They've got 019 but Mean Streets Pt. 2 isn't on their website yet so I'm not sure.

if you dont, simply dont
complaining about the price is not going to put the record in your bag
just put off the other release you were thinking of purchasing if its a money issue
Finally someone with some sense.
Gareth, if you can afford to buy that many records a month you should be the last one complaining about the price of a record. And if you don't agree with the price of something, then don't buy it. It's pretty simple!

I'm concerned about the market price ffs, yeah, I might be able to afford it, but if I'm one of only a handful that can, you think there's gonna be any sort of vinyl market left? A lot of people are being priced out of buying vinyl, and this hardly helps. There are probably bare dudes out there that want to support, but can't justify outputting the amount some of us can. Jeez, I ask for a bit of justification on why this record is £10 and I get in the neck? This isn't about whether I want to buy it or not, this is just asking why the record is seemingly more expensive than it needs to be.
This is not some personal shit against anybody, like you like the record more, or you like loefah more.

i agree with the g-man. i still bought it (although basically got it for £8 anyway) but it is concerning for vinyl as a whole.
however, most swamp releases are about £7.50 and i dont mind paying the extra because the artwork is usually good and it's 180g, more money for a better product, but i just dont get why this should cost more because it's limited? if they'll need to sell a few more to make some dosh then just make it less limited, or not at all... pretty sure that most people aren't fussed about it being limited

yup, glad you posted that. i just grabbed it there as well. i hate being disloyal to my regular record shop, but they dont seem to have it in stock.
I'm guessing ST Holdings and the labels make more money when a record sells on surus, since it bypasses the usual retail costs. maybe they asked the record shops to hold off until the surus stock moves?

OK then, apologies due, I guess I got the wrong end of the stick. Seemed to me like you were having a moan about not being able to afford it in addition to the other two dozen vinyl you'll be buying this month. As in "I really want this, but I'm not prepared to pay the asking price for it. But I should be allowed to have it for a lower price anyway".

Maybe I'd be worried about the price of this plate turning people away from vinyl... if this release was available digitally, but it' not, so those that want to play this out are going to have to cop it.
Certainly if everyone started charging a tenner for every 12" (especially for releases that are available digitally for a lot less), this could have more serious repercussions, but if all these people that used to buy records suddenly stopped, then they'd have to put the prices back down really.

Nah man. The bit about this release being vinyl only meaning that if people want it, they're gonna have to pay £10 for it is kind of my point. I'd hope there was another reason but it kind of seems like they're going for a cash grab from those that support vinyl knowing they have no other choice.
