Was that the metalheadz night? Couple of my mates went to that, they got too wrecked and missed oneman so just hung about room 2 all night, apparently there was dodgy mixing from most people involved but some serious tunes being dropped.

good job. was gonna post some but its suprisingly hard to find a picture of a ball sack on google images.

My friend said he'd take a look at it, but god-dammit I'm terrified. If I can't get the data off that thing, I'm losing all the project files for my upcoming ep, my live performance ableton project file, 10 gigs of samples, a bunch of plug-ins, and I'll have to start over with mixing my friend's album. The old hard-drive was working fine, save for a few glitches, up until I tried to copy everything to the new one. God-fucking-dammit.

data on hard drives is still recoverable even if the hard drive isn't functional. as long as it is not physically damaged... you should be okay. just have to go through the right avenues.

however i would recommend redundancy storage in the future

Yeah, a friend of a friend who owns a computer repair business is gonna try to fix it/get the data from it for free, so that's awesome. I'm still really stressed out though

My external hard drive also went kaput on me just like that. It had almost 500 gigs of files. Half was years worth of backpacking. I didn't commit suicide but there's less joy in photography. Also extra paranoid now - I have double back ups on DVD.

had to get up yesterday at 520am, to catch a 540am train.
got to work at 9am.
worked till 530pm
got home at 630pm.
power cut struck 715pm....
twiddled thumbs till 10pm
overslept as my phones dead (no alarm) till 750am.
got on bus at 810am
back at work 9am.

payday tomorrow... I'm going to spend it all paying of debt and buying christmas presents for my family. sucks...
I have a long list of vinyls that i'd much rather spend my hard earned cash on.
