Maybe I'd be worried about the price of this plate turning people away from vinyl... if this release was available digitally, but it' not, so those that want to play this out are going to have to cop it.
Certainly if everyone started charging a tenner for every 12" (especially for releases that are available digitally for a lot less), this could have more serious repercussions, but if all these people that used to buy records suddenly stopped, then they'd have to put the prices back down really.

Nah man. The bit about this release being vinyl only meaning that if people want it, they're gonna have to pay £10 for it is kind of my point. I'd hope there was another reason but it kind of seems like they're going for a cash grab from those that support vinyl knowing they have no other choice.
That's certainly fair enough. But people can always refuse to buy it on the grounds it is too expensive, which is kind of what I was trying to get at. As for the justification of it's pricing, we can only guess what the reasons are unless Loe or someone explains!

Anyway we're all bros here so I'm done arguing about this! :w:

They're probably £10 each to cover the higher overheads of pressing a limited run. Not going to get into whether that's right or wrong, but I can't see it being any other reason tbh.

500 is not a limited run. 500 is standard for smaller labels

it may be "limited" in terms of swamp 81 but it's by no means a small enough print that it pushes costs up

anyway, as has been said there's not much point going on about it. it is what it is, but it's safe to say some of us aren't particularly impressed (even though we bought it :dunce:)

Also, Mean Streets Pt. 1 was also 'limited' to 500 copies and that was still 8 quid, so I don't think that's the reason. But let's just drop the discussion, as badger said, it is what it is.

I'm just glad to be getting 2 new Swamp releases within 2 weeks of each other (Boddika & Falty), wasn't expecting that.

I've have been curious, though, as to why only the Falty DL releases are limited to 500. Was wondering if it's somehow a requirement with his record deal on Planet Mu?

interesting thought there. he has had other releases on rush hour, ninja tune, ramp, all city, etc. dont think any of them were intentionally limited.

Yeah I think you could be right man, on the back of the sleeve it says "Written and produced by Drew Lustman. Published by Planet Mu"

I've got #046/500. Who's got #81? :6:
Btw, anyone noticed the "SWAMP" on the top of that white building in the middle? :D

yas! was just about to say! ^^^^ the artwork is so nice, half the reason for me buying the release
