My little setup at my university dorm. Can't wait to get into my new apartment at the end of the school year, so I can start a real setup. Sorry for the cell phone pics.
What I have so far...
- MacBook 2.26ghz, 500gb 7200rpm hd, 4gb of ram
- Reason 5
- M-Audio Axiom 25
- M-Audio Fast Track USB 2 (I know, it sucks)
- Klipsch Promedia 2.1
- Sennheiser HD280 Pro's
What I plan to get in the near future..
- Presonus Audiobox
- KRK RP6G2's (or another similar budget monitor) - Should I get 6" or 8"???
- IKey Audio 10" sub
- RTA studio desk (When I move into my new apt.)
- MPD24
- Monitor stands & isolation pads
- DIY room treatment (I know everyone will argue I should do this first, but the equipment will give me motivation to do it)
In the next couple years...
- MacBook Pro 15 or 17" (Probably 15" for college too)
- 27" monitor or another 42" TV

Listen to them and find out. However unless you have a pretty big room 8" will probably be too much. Depends though.
lyons238 wrote:- IKey Audio 10" sub
If you are going to buy the monitors, get the matching sub. This sub you are talking about won't be matched to the KRK's and you will need to go through the relatively arduous process of tuning the two. (You will have to do this to an extent with the matching one, but it will be a lot easier.)

lemme tell you about that chair... it is fucking amazing. best chair I've ever sat on, it reclines all the way backwards too, you will never sit on a more comfy chair I promise ye.
Yeh its an attic, they used to be in the property game so redid everything when they moved in, its a bangin workspace although probably not the best for acoustics etc, but I get by...

Possibly not where you have it set up but I find my attic space pretty awesome for acoustics because there aren't a lot of 90 degree angles. With my space it is unfortunate that I have a chimney going right through the center of the room but on the bright side I must have my desk set up against it putting the monitors right in the middle of the room. So I don't get a lot of reflections coming from any walls behind the monitors. I badly want to redo the drywall and if not at least redo the pine floors and repaint and a bit of paint and shelving also. My studio is also the storage room. I feel like the dood in office space when my wife makes me take more shit up there. Anyway, nice chair fella
