here's the feedback:

@Bud:
nowaysj remix> different direction, surprisingly digging the electro house vibes, reminds me of mr oizo's early stuff. great work on the accapella coming in at 1:15, took me by surprise but it really works well with the rest of the track. if i have any critique is that it could be a tad longer.

sanctum> you already posted this one previously right? i'm still phased out by the vocals (but as i said, probably because i can't help comparing it with the jamie xx tune i mentioned last time). other than that, liking the rest. except maybe the sound you use for the arpeggiated melody in the first section. i feel a cleaner/warmer/softer/nicer sound would make a goood counterpart to the grittiness of the bassline beats combo.

hent> not sure about the trap-ish hi hats, feels like it detracts from the rest. also i think the main snare could be a bit snappier, like maybe if you layer a woodblock or rimshot on top of it. not sure it's intended, but it feels a bit muffled to me as it is.

@Jizz: great work on athe atmosphere and all the little foley details. mixdown is on point too. maybe it's just me but i feel there could be another melodic element in there, or maybe another layer of strings to fill it up a bit. also i feel the beat could be made more interesting by adding some fills here and there, especially during the double time part. just my 2 cents tho

@nowaysj:

nowaysj coming through with the weirdness. i like the way you mangled it, though i feel it lacks direction. you have warped sounds in really interesting ways but it feels like you could have used some differently imo. like the stuttering around 0:46 for example, i would have been all over that, maybe making it the driving element for a while. or the weird groove with the "friiiiiiiiend" and the guitar that goes on in the last section, if you structured this more, it would have been a good basis for a proper tuna flappage. i blame the family reunion :6:

@Demain:

ever blessed> nice one, liking the general idea, i wasn't sure about the combo between the drum machine-like snare and the "real" drums line at first but it grew on me. i wish you'd break the beat like you do at the end earlier tho, i feel it gets a bit samey after a while and could use some variations, even if just a dancehall-ish fill like you have at the end every 16 bar or something.

invasion: love the mount kimbiesque foley percussions. great shuffle. i wish another element would come in at some point tho, nto sure what, maybe its just me but it feels a bit empty once you introduced all you have. i feel another melodic element wouldn't be too much. off topic, this made me wonder: do you play your melodies with mouse + click or do you jam them with a controller of sorts?

btw, i took the liberty to d/l these stems you posted, might give a remix a whirl if that's cool with you

speaking of remixes, Bud, i was listening to blAnc's stuff and gave your remix EP idea more thoughts, there are a few other tunes i wouldn't mind trying my hands on if you're cool with sending me stems: mint/breakk+/starglass/cavelight. obv. if there's some of mine you fancy and would like the stems for i'll be happy to oblige :)

Yeh man I feel you, thats two comments about the snare, I'll definitely have to fix it up a bit. The 808 snare is so easy though it seems to cut through the shittest mixes ;) And yeah it is a bit dull :?

And the same with invasion, i've been searching for something melodic to layer over the top while trying to avoid going full 'carbonated' on it and adding some high pitched toms. Usually i just click stuff in but for this one i recorded myself drumming on my chest, noise gated it and then layered hits over the top. Going to be doing that more often i think cos it worked it well with the swing. etc.
Yes man, do it! :)

Would you guys mind if I threw up one a little late? I've been working so much it was hard to get stuff finished. Hopefully these ridiculous work hours will slow down soon. Assuming my manager will hire some more damn people.

for real? and i keep posting for free like a chump... :6:

great tuna batch again this week :4:

Budweisertron> Ever blessed: liking the direction you took with your remix, weird yet danceable, maybe you could switch the beat to a more dancehall/soca-ish beat for a few bars, while keeping your sound palette, or maybe not, idk i think the acapella compels me to do that

Invasion: really feeling the dubby horns, think you should go further down that dubbed path, make the arrangement a bit more sparse by removing some elements at time and go crazy with reverbs/delays imo. i'm really not sure about the "i'm a soldier" acapella tho, especially at the beginning, idk it sounds off to me and detracts with the rest i feel

m8son
: that vocal sample sounds familiar, but i cant pinpoint where its from. nice one, though i wish the melody would change/evolve at some point, could be just me but i felt i got a bit samey towards the end. well actually it's more like it sounds like a tuna that begs for an mc to me. i like the synth that comes in around 1:42, it's sort of mala-esque, especially the way you used it around 3:11, i feel there should be more of that.

anywaysj really good stuff again. footwork for the footless is something i adhere to. can't really critique it, tho experimental it sounds alright like that, in a early 00's planet mu way :6: . if you were the kind of guy to reopen a project i'd suggest adding exotic organic percussions in the mix: triangle, gamelan this kind of stuff

jizzman/idrgaf sound design is really sick but a bit to harsh for my taste. not sure this track is still WIP or a dead project, i'd suggest playing with automated filters on the weird bleep sounds to make them evolve over time (and less annoying and repetitive imho tbh bbq)

JBEgreat work on the atmosphere and vocals! i'm unsure ( :h: ) about the sort of delayed stabs, the one you have during the intro and throughtout the track, i don't feel like they fit in, could be the way they're mixed, could be just personal taste. also i'm not too fond of that second snare you layer at times, the one at 1:34 or 3:22, idk it feels like its way too harsh compared to how soft the rest of your drum hits sound, maybe if you'd eq out some of the high frequencies...
