i joined a while ago and posted this mix i tried really hard on and i thought people wuld give me good constructive criticism but the most i got was "go kill urself". my first impression of this board is the same as every other forum. a bunch of trolls who are just jerks and want to feel better about their skills so they bag on others. anyways this is the mix everyone was hating on

hola, I'm dj television. I love all parts of dubstep! the dub, and the step!
I'm only 19 and I just started teaching myself production, but I've done almost nothing with my life besides playing music and memorizing melodies, and the last 18 months have been devoted to mostly dubstep. so far, my tunes are pretty much crap, but I'm a very determined individual, and I know a lot about music.
by the time I'm halfway through, I'm gonna make every one of rusko's tracks sound like he's just some idiot mashing buttons (although some of his shit sounds like that without my contributions :]
look for me in a couple months, and listen for really really offensive, america bashing samples from television :D

i knew there'd be a newcomers thread around here somewhere... well hiya ^^ south east london (bromley, to be precise)
dunno how long i liked dubstep.. but it all started off with africa VIP by caspa & rusko on the fabriclive37 set when it was quite new with not many views @ youtube ^^
i also like other stuff, a lot of other stuff, ranging from rap to rock, from trance to techno and of course dnb and all various forms of epicness... however dubstep is mah fave atm... and as im writing this i think im writing this as if i were going to "alcoholic anonymous"... or more fittingly "dubstep anonymous"
but yeah... also got a "non official" version of reason with a couple free sample packs and i been occasionally trying to build up my own tracks which is fun, but i keep messing it up and giving up after ive somehow managed to lose the drums + bassline ive spent quite a while working on xD
but yes... hello people =]

Hello! :t: I'm new to these forums! JUST turned 19 on the 5th; I've been producing / writing / etc all my life, but got interested in dubstep about a year ago :) Occasionally messing around with wobble sounds, I didn't want to start on a track until I knew I had the techniques down. So without further ado, here's a sample of my very first track! I hope you guys enjoy, I'm reeeally inspired by ghosts w/ the occasional zombie here and there ;P

Sort of new sort of not...been a member since January but I have been more of Silent Observer...

Thought now is the time to say hello seeing as I finally got round to making my first post about the Outlook Festival this year (BIG)..

Anyways, I'm Ashleigh Claire AKA Smashleigh (previous alias I used to use when mixing out and about)

Hi! I'm also new as a member, but not as a visitor of the forums. I'm Dutch, 22, studying musicology and have been listening to dubstep from 2006 or so. Really lovin' the deep sounds right now (Swamp81, Hessle, Deep Medi, Hemlock, DMZ, etc), so you don't have to worry that there's a new MT. Eden lover on board :) I also DJ every now and then, but nothing big. Hope I can contribute!

Hi everyone, introducing myself as a new member. I've been checking out this board for awhile and figured I may as well join up. When I first heard dubstep I dismissed it out of ignorance which was a big mistake. After giving it a second chance I was hooked. I think the first record I listened to completely was Benga's "Diary of an Afro Warrior." I am enthralled with the genre now. It's amazing how much variety it possesses. And it may sound cliche but Burial's music completely changed the way I look at what music can be. Another recent release that blew me away was Mount Kimbie's "Crooks & Lovers" Anyways I look forward to reading more on this board.

Hey,

I've been reading this forums for a while, felt like time to register and introduce myself. I'm producing electronic music for a few years now, putting more or less effort into it. I did a lot of stuff the last year and I'm trying to keep it up, but my job demands time too. For production I'm using Reason / Record and some Hardware (Electribes, old Quasismidi stuff, ...). I tend to not finish up tracks, so I got a lot of WIPs online on soundcloud (http://soundcloud.com/toxidbeats), most of that stuff is dubstep, breakbeat, D&B, glitch or breakcore-influenced. Feel free to check it out and leave me some comments.

Cheers.

Hello all,

I was born in California, now I live in Copenhagen. I am a producer/multi instrumentalist.

I did a lot of touring in England with punk bands in the 00's and that is definetly were I acquired my love for jamaican and electronic music.

A full length album is in the works for winter of 2011 and it will be released on a label out of NYC called Green Owl. I have done remixes for, The XX, Primary 1, Dels, Ghostpoet and recently I did a collaboration with Dub producer Ticklah (dub side of the moon, Antibalas, Mark Ronson) for a version of M.I.A's steppin up

Here is a link to one of the first remixes I did:
http://soundcloud.com/chllngr/islands-chllngr-remixx

I also did an official Primary 1 remix:

Ticklah meet CHLLNGR for M.I.A Steppin UP:
