Do any of you guys even put your reese's into songs or anything? Sorry ive been gone for awhile but imo the last couple threads honestly have been fart nosies. I like the attempts but everyones just posting random bass's to "out do" each other and the very few post are good tutorials on quality stuff. Big ups too those guy! Its not the same how it was a year ago.

Something needs too change on DSF

While i agree to a certain extent there have been hidden in this thread some good tips and tricks on making/processing reese type noises.
But you're right, it does seem to have turned into a who can make the best sound kind of idea.

(I only posted mine a little earlier mainly for feedback really and it was taken from a song i'm working on, just to clarify  )

I post a song with a ton of reeses, and people ignore it probably thinking i'm fishing for soundcloud plays. Meanwhile, people post a 15 second clip of 1 note, and everyone goes nuts.

^You had someone ask about them, which is better than what most people get. Let's be honest, people post up the sounds they make, and when others hear something they don't know how to achieve, they ask. If they think they can achieve the same thing/just thinks it's nothing much, they don't ask. I don't mind this, unless someone's applied a totally new technique that is unique in some fashion, then I'd like to hear about it either way, and see if it's something I can apply to better my sounds

I had one guy who asked, but then when I asked what sounds he'd like to hear about, I didn't hear back from him. I think the issue is that people aren't even listening to songs that are posted. I put the song up on here for about a month, and it probably got 10 plays... and here is the only place I posted the link, other then maybe 2-3 friends for feedback.

I think in regards to this thread, theres not much of a following. On DSF, I see a lot more activity on the growl thread, and other "how do I make this sound" kinda threads. I guess you can blame that on the fact that neuro sounds don't dominate dubstep they way they do in drum and bass.

True that, I think the reese-heads have moved over to NHF, since reeses is basically 80% of what's being talked about there, haha

maybe... and guess what the admins had to do there? create a thread named "post your bass sounds here" because everyone was just showing off their latest 0,5s fart by creating a new thread for each and every single one they uploaded on sc

Well it wasn't created by an admin, it was just a user who got the idea from this thread, but wanted it better executed and not with as many posts to scroll through

I highly suggest everyone over here to check out NHF and the scene around that! Great stuff surrounding that and also there are no circlejerking tnucs over there, unlike here most of the time.

I suggest we have a little comp over here in the production forum, where we all get the same exact sample and see what we can do with it and then for the final rounds with maybe the top 10 reese's that are posted those people have to make a song or loop around that. The winner just gets the satisfaction of winning or something idk.

Dsf has been super dead in the recent couple years and thats kind of disheartening since this place has great source of information and history.

Well I think it is a sign that the hype over dubstep has settled. Need to check out the NHF now!

I got addicted and resampled too many times. Too heavy for a dungeon track I Guess.

Soundcloud

It's private.

I'm trying and trying to get my stuff to sound like this but I never get close. Ever.

Sorry for shameless self promotion but i did a tutorial recently and thought it might help out a lot of you guys. I go over three different tips you can do to reese. Pretty simple stuff going on, with the usual resampling and what not.

Its a lengthy video but its worth it :W:, also the project file is in the description.

This is what im teaching you to make

The point that many people are missing it's that it's just not width but also depth.
