Stress: Just take one instrument you can play the best, send it to rev and delay, and watch the stress melt away.

Oh, and I SWEAR this started out as being BoC'ish, then I lost it. Those horny chorded swells are Volca Bass:

Haha, thanks, it was a little better when it was simpler, drums and volca bass. I picked up the bass and it got a little far out.

Nah, bassline is nice. You pulled out your electric bass?

Yeah. I was like, lemme see what like a one or two bar electric bass riff would do under here, and started leading with the bass.

That tune is fucking lush man. I'd love to know your process. How much of this was done on the computer? I'm guessing almost nothing. Just curious how you are sequencing/recording? That Volca Bass patch is tits. Also totes jelly of your mad bass skills. Sounds fantastic overall mix wise.
Alright, alright...now I need to make a beat track in hardware land...

Really a simple track. Started with the VBass patch, played around with detuning the osc's. Figured out you could detune by halfsteps, made that chord. Slow, low amount lfo to cutoff and to pitch. Initially the patch was highly resonant with the cutoff really low, and some envelope, just a little (that is finicky on the VBass), that patch ultimately changed over time though.
So I sequenced the VBass with FL, then I brought in a break, started fucking that up, and was still working with the VBass live, sending midi and monitoring the VBass output. Then I was like, there is no bass in this track, what if I got an electric bass in there? Just thinking like a loop or something. Then, was just having too much fun on the bass, so the track changed. Recorded a pass of the bass in Edison, then spent a long time working on the tone and timing. My bass doesn't sound that good, and my playing is sloppy to say the least. I have no callouses anymore, hopefully I can play more and build them up again.
Then finally printed the VBass, playing the knobs live. I did two takes. The more aggressive/dynamic take, I heavily filtered, cutting off the low end, or just leaving the top, and laid that over the main VBass line. I panned the top synth around quite a bit. All that synth stuff was sent to a light reverb, and into a delay, and that delay was sent heavy into a reverb.
Then I took a pass with an envelope follower and resonant filter on the bass, and took a pass with a pretty strong phaser on the drums.
Mastering was light eq, medium compression, heavy limiter.
All that recording, mixing and arranging itb! The box is like a black hole. So hard to escape. Once I've got a mixer and tape machine, see ya box!

Cool man. I love that you got such an interesting track with so few elements. People always talk about these 100+ item tracks and I'm just like...what in the world do you need all that for...???

Its just an ear piercing. When I got both of them done originally I asked my piercer what I could get done that would not interfere with my wearing headphones for hours at a time on a day to day basis and this is what she recommended. Totally spot on. None of my cans fuck with them at all, other piercings you'd have to lay off headphones for a long while to heal. A week into a a daith piercing you should be good on using headphones. I just cleaned 'em up a bit with rubbing alcohol
