Could you all please chill out. Everyone has different tastes. Sure, some were dissapointed by Skrengas set, some prolly loved it. Can't we just enjoy the fucking music instead. Lets talk about the good/positive stuff instead.

Or I'll go in a dark corner and listen to Burial and cry.

wow its still going....

ive said my thoughts earlier but was just wondering is there a set when u could see skream and he would draw for the old school and newer amazing deeper tunes hes made like exothermic reaction and fatty drummer?

i guess technically he doesnt like his old tunes as even though i prefer them they arent produced to the same standard...to me the vibes on a tune like traitor are still very special

has anyone seen a set like this?

skream where would you play a set like this in 2011?

maybe whats annoyed some people is theyre really disappointed that the one place they thought theyd get to hear it would be dmz

i played croydub and played traitor and flame and people got hyped off them and then when u were going b2b with mala i guess i was hoping you would play more tunes in keeping with the old school dmz vibe and when u didnt i was s bit disappointed but ffs getting angry like people are here is obviously ridiculous

I hope you do realise the massive respect people have for you in general and if anything thats maybe whats fueling peoples disappointment..

seriously though i would love to hear a dmz vibes type set from s & b

If no-one said that then what are people moaning about then? What's "DMZ type".. Ask the person in this thread who first said it. "Your argument is not null and void" - Uhh, it's what the whole thread is about you fool?
??? why are you gettig so mad now? lol...and getting mighty brave calling people fools behind a computer screen might i add...did i call you any names or throw any insults your way? no...so don't do that with me ok?

and to the bolded...don't ask me...ask them, once again, i haven't even expressed an opinion on their set...you're acting like i said i hated it...i was only commenting on misinformation (the whole nostalgia angle) being presented as fact...which it wasn't, that's why i said your argument was null and void, cos it didn't make any sense

and i swear down i never even stated what music should be like at dmz...post up a quote of mine to prove me wrong and i'll shut up

I think its because a lot of people on this forum are just sheep following trends set by DJ's deemed to be "acceptable" or "cool" on this forum.
say no fucking more

Utter, utter bollocks.

I would happily listen to juke/house/funky at DMZ because I like it. I don't like midrange, tearout, screechy dubstep so I'm perfectly within my right to be disappointed if two musicians that I look up to (S+B) are playing it.
the prevailing argument is that skream and benga are going against the early dubstep sound... if you didnt like their set then ok, big deal... the problem here is the anger and i believe the anger stems from peoples perception of what skream and bengas early music represented (meditating on bassweight or whatever) but objectively loefah is doing the same thing as them, you could argue that the influx of juke style beats and 130bpm beats is also killing the traditional dubstep sound... but no-one does because their not looking at it objectively their being hateful, which is why dubstep producers and djs dont take this forum seriously

yes there is a difference between disappointment and hate but no-one is expressing disappointment they're all being hateful... how do you lot expect these djs to respond... come running back to 'respected' trends with their tails between their legs like submissive little bitches to please you lot, or defend themselves which they have every right to do?

If I had a kid that diversified from a straight A student to a wasteman crack addict, I wouldn't be proud.

I guess people just expected a different type of set from Skream & Benga, looking at their radio 1 tracklists, it was clear that they might lean more towards the tearout stuff, but if you aren't up to date with them, and expected a deeper set, then you're going to be disappointed.

Think a lot of people here are forgetting that at the start of this thread, not many people (if any) were throwing extremes around, more that they were disappointed/didn't think much of the set, but some people seem to think they're slating Skream & Benga on a personal level.

End thread?

which one of you guys is martelo?

lol!!! :t: hello!!!!!

all i will say is that the guy who started having a go at skream was pretty harsh..

http://twitter.com/KCmuSick/status/44244092791685120

"you should be well ashamed for playing this shit at a DMZ night. Just lost a great deal of respect for you."

bit much and i think understandable to get annoyed at that, he then went on to @ mala asking him to never book s&b again because they 'ruined' the night.

waste.

so skream told some ppl saying not nice stuff to fuck off.. is that honestly him disregarding his supporters?

also as a few ppl have pointed out:

http://twitter.com/I_Skream/status/44779941295960065

p.s. it was dave spoon who made the comment about forums, before everyone starts hating on caspa.

this whole thing is so lame.

When Skream released the tracklisting for DIS013, I was disappointed not to see a certain track of his on there. But it didn't mean I started to cry.

People are happy to take take take, but then suddenly when what's on offer is a little bit different to what they were expecting, lay the shit down. I'm damn glad that the genre has these two guys, and without them it would be somewhat different. The odd DMZ night with a disappointing/'horrible'/'wack'/'crap' set (I actually liked a lot of it myself) is small price to pay, no?

IMO the Raw Dogz VIP is lacking, but f'ck it, Skream gave us the original, and it's a banger!

ICBF discussing anything in this thread any more.

Anyone got any audio for this "Raw Dogz VIP"? I want to hear if it's as bad as everyone says..
