Not to sure if i like the idea of doing that and im sure if it wasn't joy orbison it would get slated. Anyways i still really like it and hope it gets released soon. Just in case i missed someone else posting this...

It's still being released, just incnic being incnic.miowmeeshy wrote: wow never knew this was a sample! so its not getting released because they didnt get rights to do so or something? bad times
A good song is a good song, regardless of where the samples come from. I don't like the source, but Swims is one of the best tunes this year. IMO Joy O and Boddika turned something shit into something great.um4mi wrote:Hmm it makes this tune not nearly as cool to me, i thought they got that sample from some weird obscure place but it turns out the just sampled it off another record and slapped it on their beat without even changing it or messing with it.
That's a fair point really.. I guess it just appealed to me from a producer's perspective to think they dug the sample up from somewhere weird, like on Elipses.. Which i guess contributed a lot to me liking the tune so much in the first place. But you are right its still a great tune regardless. I tend to like a tune more if i think its clever, but maybe thats just me being pretentiousback_beat wrote:A good song is a good song, regardless of where the samples come from. No. Rhythmically they are totally different , the only common thread is the vocal.q-t wrote:Also, isn't the rhythm practically the same?
Ok, only heard it on laptop speakers. Probably missed a lot of the rhythm due to frequencies not being represented correctly.nakedlunch wrote:No. Rhythmically they are totally different , the only common thread is the vocal.q-t wrote:Also, isn't the rhythm practically the same?
Is this directed toward me? Don't really get what you're trying to say but no one can deny that acid basslines have been a huge trend this year. Last year almost no one from the UK Bass scene used it in their tracks, and now everyone's raving about them.Capture pt wrote:so no one remembers acid house, no?
