well on thor in reason

got an FM Pair Osc up, dont know what the equivalent is in other programmes.
Low pass at 317 Res at 39.
kbd on full, lots of envelope.
Then, the secret weapon- do it so that the velocity of your note impacts on how much the fm amount is, the knob on the osc.
Stick the lfo to the pitch a little bit
add some delay and a bit of reverb and then eq it so that the treble is really high

voila

Here's what it looks like in Absynth...
Image
Just loaded a waveform of a bass I made in Massive into 2 oscillators and a few filters and only one resonator. I didnt use any external FX's.
And please ignore the drums. I put absolutely 0 effort into them :6:

Lol that's such a quintessentially absynth sound :h:

I seriously love absynth my mate got me into absynth a while back, he's into making tripped out autechre type madness, the manual was my bed time reading for quite a while. Really made me go "waaaah" a couple of times with just how frickin deep you can go with that monster of a machine. still haven't managed to get anything decent out of it yet though :? I'm still on a fairly medium level with synthesis, i should really pay more attention to it. I love screwing with the presets though and using the granular sampling mode with the sample start time envelope linked to a mod wheel. crazy ass sick mess!

Not to mention the cloud FX <3

Made with NI Massive and other vst's.
I didn't layer granulized stuff, just resampling.

Soundcloud

It sounds kinda muddy right now because i didn't split the frequencies, it's just a sketch.
I hope to finish a tune with this bass.
If i remember , Soundcloud streams only 128Kb (@ mp3 ) , so i uploaded a HD (1080p) clip on my Youtube channel.
Noisia Bass Resampling Test

Feel free to ask me anything :cornlol:.

yet another reese from jrisreal. however, I really mangled this one up into a robotic atmospheric type effect.

Soundcloud

no idea how I did it...just did a lot of experimentation with reeses and resampling and square waves and filters and eq and delay and reverb and automation :P

I think I used 2 notches. one with a 4/1 lfo and one with a 2/1 lfo. But the second big source for the morphing kinda sound is the modulation of an eq for the vowels. It was discussed here in some skrillex thread and made me want to try it out.^^

Last night I took the outro of this song:

Fed it through Michael Norris's Spectral Dronemaker, and copied the lyrics into a textedit file and used appletalk to read them.
