The night wasn't packed(I think that's because of people outside smoking) but there was still a ton of people. There was also from time to time some proper funky odours, and people who seemed out of place(need any pills?). So I guess you could say in that respect it wasn't as good as other DMZ nights. However on the other hand the crowd was still well into it, almost everyone skanking when heavy tunes got played. My fav set of the night was dmz/loafah's. Coki played a couple massive tunes, one being reround five times or so(I don't really like rewinds but that tune was sick). I just wish I could have stayed longer to see horsepower.
So even with the smoking ban in effect the night was still better than anywhere else.

Think that tune was Jakes - 3KOut
It got played earlier but didnt get the hype it needed until the second (or third) time around.
Bigup to everyone who said hello! Even those who thought I was actually DARKSIDE
Bigup to 3.5 recordings, the CD will have to wait till DARKSIDE is back so we can discuss which ones to put on the site first etc, but those tunes are sick!!
Bigup the girl who dashed half a cup of coke over my new threads - your chest! Luckily i didnt get drenched for some reason, maybe cos the portions are extra small like FWD.
Few technicals on one of the decks but didnt spoil it for me, neither did the ban, everyone was still chilled out and jammin.
Bigup Deapoh floggin some t-shirts, need to sort your sales pitch out haha
And hold tight Hindzy D spottin the "dubstep wiley" hahahahaha
Got too many pics, Ill probably spend all afternoon sortin em out but hold tight

Well I don't know why I'm up already but that was ALOT of fun and proof that not even a smoking ban can keep DMZ love down. I haven't been out for a month and that became obvious when tracks like 2D and Cockney Thug were played well early almost as warm-ups (nice ones, Chef and Walsh!). Seems like it's all about the Spongebobbers and untold Mala/Loefah/Coki heaviness. Oh and Joe Nice’s lost dubs set. Out to all b-line friends new and old Markle, Bliss, Brother Bliss, Daniel from the Ding, Kid, all Brighton crew, Will 3.5, Boom, Berliners Mike and Danny, nice to meet you at last, Georgina. Out to the bloke in the pink T-shirt holding tight for the lighter crew despite the ban and the floor smoker trying to dodge the enforcers. And to hanging around in the park in front of Mass til 6 frickin 30 trying to avoid the inevitable journey home. Rinsed, properly.
Am feeling alot of DMZ love this morning.

You're still all bastards. (Even though you missed the narco.hz bbq! Which was a nice replacement

)
Got to say though, I hadnt thought of this before, but if theres people going outside to smoke its going to loosen up some dancefloor space isnt it! I mean, I like a place to be rammed as much as anyone else, but it can get a bit ridiculous. At dmz 2nd bday I was RIGHT at the back, and I only had one footspace on the ground, at 90 degrees to the stage, had to stand my other foot on that one. Not exactly prime skank out material!
Looking forward to the pics!
Edit : Just out of interest, was poison dart/big up not burn her dropped? (I know 3kout was...jesus that tune takes the piss)

Flow dan ya say?! You sure it wasnt skeng/jah war? If it was poison dart with flow dan i would be VERY interested to hear that (although I dont reckon it'll top the queen in this one, I just think she ABSOLOUTELY smacked it)
And if the crunked up remix is what im thinking im not really a fan

(although saying that I havent heard it on a system yet) Reminded me of kalawanji 2...

LOL. Was that you? First I thought it was someone giving out laughing gas. Then I realised it was just a very roundabout way of smoking a cigarette. Well undercover.

Wouldn't be the first time shotters are at DMZ.

Anyone know what the first tune DMZ dropped was? Sounded like some J Dilla beat to me.
Cheers!
(Sorry if this has been asked already.)

well, where to start
i think i caught one or two mixes of john rust, bout 3 mixes of chef b2b walsh and about 3 mixes of hijak b2b ld
after that i had had enuff of going up and down the stairs so i went to the off license and bought a few beers and ended up outside pretty much for the remainder of the night
if this is the future of dmz then i think last night was my last one
real shame as it aint the dmz gangs fault (or the clubs) but if i gotta go outside all night (to the point where i think fuck it and stay outside) then i think its over

massive session with a BIG pre DMZ smoke up licking me hard and setting the scene for some heavyweight bassline meditation.
Jon Rust bashed the barriers of expectations with a genius mix up that got the sound system proper warmed.
well good time a little hazy at first randomly getting quite lost trying to have a smoke outside, incoherent ramblings to most people I met
Chef b2b Walsh was weighty then Hijak b2b LD nearly finished me with big tunes seriously big.
Missed the first tune from Loefah but made it for most of the set and trust it was proper tings. It felt like everybody was on the same vibes of bassline appreciation no half way business.
The chilling on the grass for the unofficial party got me sorted nuff respect Rogue Star and Deapoh good to link and get my feet closer to the ground to enjoy the rest of the session.
Big up Joe Nice getting deep in the riddim with a selection of boom tunes and skankamuffin rumblers
caught a couple of mashers from Hatcha b2b Youngsta that really got the lively crew jumping then had to roll
Fantastic night with the underground resistance adding the welcome fragrance of ishence
Full Respect DMZ blazedown coming with the goods No.1 Dubstep session

Heard a few heavy beats but got bored of the same stuff I heard a year ago still being played. Skream remix of Crunked Up is showerrrrrr, probably my fave tune last night. Good vibes all round, think it's gone back to the old vibes where people are more friendly and know something about the scene but thats just in my view.
Big up everyone I spoke to, too many to name!
