Everything I've seen so far in this thread are just reese's with a lot of automation using filters such as comb, high pass/low pass and various others. A reese is a bass that can be moulded into A LOT of things.

those datsiky bass riffs a page or two back, two different people posted.... that is automated and filtered white noise.

no kidding a reese can be processed into anything, so can a fucking sine wave.

My love for Noisia just gets stronger and stronger... Not only do they leave me scratching my head as to how they make their noises (more processing than you can shake a stick at) how the fuck do they get their mixes so clean with the crazy noises they come up with.

At what point of detuning would you guys say is the starting point of a reese, in your own opinion? Just wondering how you guys feel about it.

Ya I would say the same. Sometimes if the distortion isn't working with a fat, widely detuned reese, it sounds really nice with no detuning at all.

This is really bugging me at the moment this whole reese bass habberdashery. I can make good solid reeses and reeses that sit in the mix really nicely but I just cannot for the life of me achieve the movement I want, just can't get any twist. Automating EQ with 2 notches proved to be a pretty cool trick but still nothing like what I want.

Play around with it. Automate any parameters and see if it sounds good. flange, phasers, just do w/e to get movement

Yeah I know all of that and it gets it moving but nothing even half as twisty as I want. Tried all sorts, automating/enveloping just about every parameter in massive. EQ automation, phasing, flanging, chorusing. etc. hmmm probably going to be something so simple it will annoy me.

Try modulating formants...get it talky and whatnot. Also try using more than two notches.
