really hated wut when i first heard it, didn't get it really and just thought it was boring as shit. i dont mind it now and i like it when DJs drop some into a set or whatever but after a while it still bores me. some of the more techno-y stuff i really like along with ramp & punch drunk and some of that kinda stuff but the 808 drum machine things i think are just a bit shit really. glut i think was much better than wut

was it a hypercolor night
or was it Levon Fucking Vincent (just to name an example)
I like both of this
Well, I like Mosca's new release lol, I havent really checked out any other stuff, so maybe I dont really like it at all that much and I dont really care and thats why I dont delve deeper. Some of this new "Techno" stuff is pretty shit though, its just bass music with a 4 to da floor beat, does that really make it techno?

It's one of the sickest songs ever, and it was so good that everything else is garbage in comparison.
I really love WUT the Night Slugs gang has done for the sound, they're really saving it.
Also, very important: I read it was only the second track Girl Unit ever produced!
There's still loads of killer dubstep lurking about,
J:Kenzo, Clubroot, Se7en, Mala, Kryptic Minds, Distance, Coki, Phaelah, ect.
and Africa Hitech guest mixes on Youngsta's Rinse.FM show tomorrow
I think the influence of other types of electronic music into the sound has really opened up peoples perception.
I'm really happy that I've been tipped off to Footwork, Ballroom House, Minimal Wave, Detroit Techno, Jungle, ect.
But I never would've gotten into all that stuff, if the music never had shifted and mutated the way it has.
Yes, UK Dubstep was my inception into electronic music, and the classic dubstep style will always be my favorite.
I get really pist when people play the exact same song all night long, with no concept of how to arrange a dynamic set.
And it seems to me most common with the "Dubshit" style.
Those fucks who don't know any other type of music, really get on my nerves

Beats the fuck outta me really. Nothing too big though. Last one I've been to I know it was Wbeeza and few others that played (go figure) Hypercolour type shit. Left during Wbeeza's set. Couldn't take it.
My main issue is not the nights, I just end up getting dragged to those. It's just that the music doesn't appeal to me. And it's not like I only listened a Maya Jane Coles tune 2 months ago and decided that I'm gonna generally dismiss house.
how old are you, just curious?
21. why?
maturity

I'm a fan of Girl Unit and Night Slugs but I've never liked Wut.
I wouldn't say it's responsible for what is wrong with dubstep now though

Agree to disagree with the both of you guys then
Helix is the only one making sense as per usual
Korn, lady gaga, pictures of cats looking upset
Timbaland, etc
I love hearing Wut go off in a party, to say the least

i dont fully agree with wub either, i was just playin devils advocate and referring to how it kind of proves this point correct, wut being the equivalent of On & On (not that i think it's a poorly produced track either)
wub wrote:So, they both massively influence the scene they were a part of. Your Love sets the bar amazingly high in terms of what can be done, whereas On & On acts as a flood relief channel, showing people that whatever is done, it doesn't have to be all that good.
You've got both sides of a demonstrative argument. The upper echelons of beauty and the bottom end quick job that throws the gates open and announces ANYONE CAN DO THIS if they're so inclined.
It's like a yin yang setup. The scene needs both elements to drive it forward.
helix is like sd5 v2... or would it be sd6? then who were sd1-4?!?

What makes you think Wub doesn't like "Wut" just because he said it was a shotgun blast to the knee of dubstep?
If I said Groove Chronicles - 99 or Horsepower Productions - In Fine Style was a shotgun blast to the knee of garage, would you assume I didn't like it?
I really like "Wut", but I do think if it wasn't the tune that kickstarted this whole "bass music" thing, then it was the most prominent tune around the time that the change happened.

i guess coming from the land of hip hop/trap/etc, it just didn't seem that different... just the next logical step out of that sound
i assumed a shotgun blast to the knee was bad, because i have yet to hear anyone exclaim that they received a shotgun blast to the knee with joy
