true... i mean i've never had a nicotine addiction, i don't smoke and don't use e-cigs. My friend started using it and i caught notice of it bc i always hated that he smoked
He pretty much sucks it down all day, mainly cause he can do it wherever he stands, doesn't have to go outside, and there's no definitive start/end to the smoking process

its like being on a nicotine IV drip (but orally) all day long.. kinda scary.
He also still smokes several cigs a day

Yes they do have nicotine in them, and give a smoke like effect with vapor, but after a while your body actually starts to crave the plant matter. Plus you never know when you have had a full smoke, so you end up consuming the equivalent of 5 cigs when you normally would have ended up smoking one.
This isn't my experience. When you smoke a cigarette you smoke the entire thing despite the actual nicotine craving being sated after 3 tokes. It's massively wasteful, the e-cig allows you to just take the amount of nicotine you need and that's it really.

You wont see people very often, if at all, toking on an e-cig for the 20 tokes or w/e it takes to smoke a cigarette.
Well that's good they are working for you the way they are supposed to. A few of my friends who bought them would smoke these damn things constantly throughout the whole day (especially when drunk). Eventually they would put the e-cig down and ask to bum a smoke from me.

I tried them myself, they certainly taste alot better depending on the flavor. I just couldn't stand the whole vapor thing, it made me want to keep smoking.

Ahhh...

Feels good to post in a thread about smoking and not crave one at the same time.

:)

You've got to look at it like you have stopped smoking- you don't smoke anymore. Not that you are a smoker that is giving up.

Just smoke whenever you really feel the need. I smoke about 3 cigarettes a week now, feels good.

Indeed thats bad advice for him, i was saying it generally for those trying to cut down and eventually quit, just smoked when i really wanted to, hardly ever do now. when i buy backy i always goes savage and dry before i even finish it.

For the OP, sell the packets of cigarettes.

I ask because this is my wives gripe.
I have never smoked cigs but smoke loads of weed and have for many years.
My wife says she battles to stop smoking because when she`s trying not to smoke I go have a bong and she smells it which makes her want a smoke.
Plus she smokes with mix in her joints which really doesn`t help giving up at all.

Don`t keep the packs to slowly give to friends, you`ll just smoke them

Go to parties and wait till it gets late and the stores close. Then sell singles to desperate people for a dollar. Do this over time and put all the money in a jar. When you've sold them all, buy yourself something nice as a reward for resisting.

Preferably something better than Rodney King got...

i have to admit that stopping smoking weed is way easyer as smoking cigs. i used to smoke a assload of weed, back when i didn't have the drivers license. as soon i started to prepare for the tests i stopped, from one day to the other, and i never had the feeling that i'm needing something. and when i'm smoking weed nowdays usually smoke it with my friends to have myself involved and giving that honour to my friends to have a spliff with them. kinda like the only beer you drink when your a driver. :)
so this is my goal - to have it in hand like weed or alcohol.

good luck but it isn't weed or alcohol
nicotine acts differently on your brain
everyone i've ever known to quit, started back full-blown smoking after relapse
having just one, just when you drink, etc.. its all bullshit
every single cig you smoke deepens the addiction hole
the only way to stop is to not smoke anymore

Many of my friends quit successfully by reading that Alan Carr book. I did not work for me. I smoke 60 gm a week.I am going to quit soon because the government keeps raising the price of tobacco to (partially) offset the cost of smoking on the public health system.

i know, he meant it good and wanted to make me smile, so i took it to not disappoint him. now i have a 10pack cigs lying around on my table and it makes me wana smoke again (it's because i allways have them around me).
My dad quit and he always kept a pack around just so he knew it was there, if he wanted one. This kept him in the mindset of "I'm better then smoking, I don't need to." instead of "I need a cigarette right now, but I can't have one.." cause that always led him back to smoking.
Good job for quitting, man. :Q: I'm still working on quitting myself :/
