I'm having this conversation tomorrow, but it seems like the deadline for mine is not hard.
Probably not eligible for resubmission though.
Seems like I have to ask about all these things via e-mail, there's no documents I'm aware of.

Generally the maximum mark you can receive is capped, usually it is 40% or whatever the lowest pass mark is.

It's generally a bad idea, most essays even pretty poor ones do better than 40% unless the person writing it answers a different question.
