It's all tongue in cheek, though...*

I'm feeling that Marcus/Mac 10 set, in parts feeling it ALOT... one thing though - this supposed 'rhythmic invention' - it sounds to me like most of the tunes have pretty much the same beat to them. I suppose that's the nature of 4 to the floor music though.

*just like at funky nights! BADUM TSCH

It's weird, though, before getting that Marcus set off De Ja I was just listening to this Supa D set off Rinse and that was mostly just deep house/us garage style stuff with little or none of this soca-y UK stuff... and that wasn't from more than a few months ago. Has the scene changed that quickly, or was Supa D just not playing any of that kind of stuff while Marcus was?

Prancehall did an interview a while back with NG, which touched on the gay thing, NG was saying he used to think it was all gay until he got into it.

I'd like to see you tell Supa he was gay but then again I don't think it's homophobic either ; )

Somebody at ninja tune once asked me what misogyny was.

tbh Supa D is one of the less exciting DJs...

all the interesting people seem to have previously been involved with grime

Well I haven't heard any I liked but like most things maybe I've heard the wrong stuff...

certainly the people I know that claim to like it are the kind of people that think Billie Holiday is a guy

Have you heard Marcus b2b Mac 10 on Rinse yet?

A lot of it isn't amazing to me but there's quite a few tunes that hit the spot...

funky house is that feeling you get when you've had one too many glasses of white wine and the bongo jam comes on in weatherspoons
