IMO it is

, its nice that i can finally work with audio, like the new mixer alot

. Timestreching is very good too. And love the little workflow improvements, like the full screen rack in which u can place instruments next eachother and use the miniature screens to locate your desired instrument quickly. No need to be scrolling like a nut. The miniature is there also for the sequencer and mixer channels.
Just seen the above on Youtube. Looks like I will no longer need other DAWs for timestretching or chopping audio!
cons, I will need two more monitors

not really needed, but it would make shit easier.
you can hit f5, f6 and f7 to switch between the rack, the mixer and the sequencer

Im trying to turn a knob on a combinator to 1.96
However when i turn it using the mouse it goes in sets of two through odd numbers: 1.93 - 1.95 - 1.97 - 1.99 . . . .
How is it possible to reach the even numbers?
Thanks!

automation is prob the best bet, but you can go to preferences, and in the general section change mouse knob range to very precise

if you hold shift you can do more precise settings on knobs/faders

Also, if you hold ctrl, it will switch back to default setting

If you have a legit copy, ask on the propellerheads website directly.
Otherwise, you may find enlightenment in the manual?? :shrugs:

yeah I just thought of that after posting. I dont think record got cracked already, so yes im legit

.
Already checked the manual, its shit. Only explains the installation, the preferences and setting up hardware

Yeah, the Reason manual is great, but it sounds like the Record one is lacking...?
Also, the Propellerhead forum is awash with c***s imo...
Let us know if its possible/how it's done

From propsforum:
No, not in v1.0. You have to export, reverse with a wave editor and reimport.
I think most people are hoping for this to be added to the next update of Record.

You'd have thought that Props would have introduced a simple feature like reversing a sample back in Reason 2.......... (Oh they did... the stupid NN-XT 'bw' playmode)
I don't have strong opinions on their flawed software without reason ya know (no puns intended)

This is just sad... The only reason why I would ever buy record is to reverse samples!
I'm not even kidding.

what do these terms mean
LFO
mod wheel
gate

CV signals
EQ

LFO = a Low Frequency Oscillator, which is just like a normal wave generator, although it oscilates at such a low "pitch" (frequency) that is not audible, but well suited as a modulation source.
Mod wheel = the wheel next to your pitchbend on your keyboard. Also used as a modulation source.
Gate = I think this is the signal that says a note is on or off but I'm sure someone can correct me on this one.
Envelope = on your synth you have different envelopes. Most of the time they are so called ADSR's. Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release. Attack is how long it takes to get up to the decay point. Decay is how long it takes to get to the sustained point (which will stay at sustained while you hold the note). Release is how long it takes to go back to normal after you release your note. The most simple envelope which is also standard on every synth is the amplitude envelope, which controls the output gain of your synth. Other envelopes are _again_ used a modulation source.
CV = Control voltage. You can use CV data to modulate things. For example, assign your lfo to your CV out. Than connect your CV out to let's say, a distortion unit. Now your lfo from the synth acts as a modulation source for the destination (the specific knob on the distortion unit). Just like gating, I'm sure someone can correct me on this one.
EQ = Equalizer. It's an "effect" unit that you can use to cut or boost certain frequencies. Let's say you hear too much bass in your song, you can "EQ" it to have less bass, by using a low shelf and turning the gain down.
_________
I hope this helped. I'm not an expert by any means, but I'm bored and I thought I should help you out :>
EDIT: Just re-read my post and it's full of typos, it's 2:29am and I'm tired so fuck you all and I'm not bothering to correct it lol.

Can/ how do you make FX's that Reason doesnt have? Is there any sort article about where it explains some of these methods, i'm sure i've read on here about mixing certain fx's and instruments to shortcut the lack of good effects in the program.

Like what effects? Reason pretty much covers all the effects.

It is possible to 'make' some of the effects using a combination of several other reason devices.
You can modulate a delay device to achieve pitch shifting and use eq's to make different filter types etc.
As mentioned above, reason pretty much covers everything, it's just that some things aren't always obviously located. (Like the comb filters and shapr on the Malstrom, the vowel filter on Thor and the bit crusher on the Scream device)....
