Think it has a lot to do with me loving source, tbh, it isn't much more than a few different game modes, few more guns and better graphics, but the competitive matchmaking is amazing and at first I wasn't into that much, but the more I play it, I love it

1.6 is still very active, just go with that imo.
Lot of high quality pub servers around now.

Yeah just played this myself. Driving/camera is whack, but all that kicking/cleavering people in the head makes up for it. Story gets pretty good too.

Treated my new computer to a GTX 660 so can finally play decent games (all on highest settings so far too ).

Started playing GTA IV again and Spec Ops: The Line.

JimmaJamJamie - wait until you find a game that allows you to use ultra settings.
It's very satisfying.

Looking forward to it, after hearing all the problems the PC port of GTA IV has and now being able to have everything turned to maximum and still getting 45-60 fps is really satisfying .

finally started dragons dogma. its confusing as shit with all the vocations and skills and seems to cater to autistic min/maxers but it's fun and challenging (so far, i've heard it gets easy as fuck though once you're about level 40), and the pawn system is very cool.

Got Doom 3 BFG edition on the PS3, has the first two on as well

BFG while great for consoles was a downgrade for PC, also for some reason they changed and censored some bits of the original Dooms.

Personally I use ZDoom for most stuff, GZDoom if I wanna get all upscaled and modern with Brutal Doom
