4000 words explaining your practical research and discussing results should be sufficient.
Gonna figure out tomorrow whether I'm even doing a practical part. Mine is about the
functions of music in visual media, so some kind of case study would be nice I think.

I never ended up in a class like this in graduate school...but there are whole courses that study just writing good survey questions. The few Rhetoric and Composition courses I took each required us to write a paper where we collected our own data. I got ripped a new one each time for writing poor survey questions or creating a totally fucked research scenario.
Happy to have a listen when you get your shit sorted though : )

Looking at Cassette decks as a permanent edition to the sampling side of my gear.
Anyone had any experience with a Technics RS-X302? Its going for 30 on ebay, 10 for shipping.
Or any recommendations? The older and more hifi based the better.

I have an Technics one from the '80's or early '90's. The Technics sound good. I still play cassettes regularly.
Ahh yeah, there it is. RS-TR157.

Check out all the Tascams. And also, no no on the hi fi. Like yes, of course, but not exclusively, mate. Some really quality sounds come from cheaply designed circuits getting the shit driven out of them.
Classic:
DON'T OVERLOOK 4 TRACKS!
So much more useful for sound design. Can layer, can adjust pitch/speed, can do goofy gain staging things to produce different effects, can play shit in reverse, trust on this, a two track cassette deck is cool, and in the future I'll surely pick one up, but a 4 track will give more bang for your buck. Also, can get higher fi with higher tape speeds than consumer decks.
Oh another classic:
Haven't used any of these. Can't recall the id of the decks I used in yonder years.
That deck that you're looking at, I think it is part of like a stereo setup and doesn't have its own power supply. I think the receiver/amp was supposed to power it. I'd check into that. I'm not sure.

I know a ukzer who just bought a 122 mark 3(I think) off of gumtree. They come up. Can't go wrong.
But heed the advice: 4 track. Far more versatile, and if you want hifi, prolly the highest fi recording you can get on cassette.

mine does not look that nice and smells faintly on animal urine even after several cleanings; the urine smell has now become another part of my workflow

Mf... My Sample hasn't even shipped yet.
Seller is like as soon as they come in, we'll ship it out to you. I was like I could have had it already from another seller, they're like don't worry, and promptly issued me a tracking number. A prospective tracking number, for the package they haven't shipped. I really hate sleezeballs.
And f you mks. I've left crates and crates and CRATES of records on a street corner, but TWO reel to reels, that is unforgivable.
