It's pretty clearly not true. McDonalds sell food. Unless a Government forced them, there is no way they're turning away customers just for them to go and eat at the competition. That's fucking madness!

Plenty of kebab vans and kiosks where I live. There's one only a block away from me. The smell of those things is horrible and the people working there are shady as fuck.
Mcdonalds ain't that great either. Used to go to a shitty little bar when I was 15-16, which was in the back of a Mcdonalds, probably the storage place. And the people unloading the trucks usually dropped boxes of hamburgers or whatever on the ground, in puddles etc then sending them in. Totally put me off eating there.

Two kebab shops in Slough got shut down a while back. One because they found over 100 health violations within the first 10mins of an unannounced inspection, and the other they took some of the meat away to be analysed and couldn't confirm what it was. Like, there was bits of different meat in it that could be identified, but not one particuar type of meat had enough content to be pointed at and said "this is lamb" or whatever.
