You're right man. His tunes have no bass, just like Mala's tunes have nothing above 100hz... This has got to be one of the dumbest arguments I've ever witnessed.
Tell me about it man, it shouldn't even be up for debate. No matter your opinion on the quality of his tunes, there's absolutely no denying that most of them have sub. If you have a system capable of producing down to 40hz at least you'll here it. It might not carry as much weight as say, Horrorshow, but saying it has 'zero' bass is completely false.

Joeki: yeah, you're the one making a fool of yourself here.

Tell me about it man, it shouldn't even be up for debate. Whether you think his tunes are good or complete shit (I'm pretty much in the middle but I can't listen to his shit mainly because of what it's associated with), there's absolutely no denying that most of them have sub. In fact it's usually in the 40-50hz range.

Joeki: yeah, you're the one making a fool of yourself here.
i don't listen to skrillex, barely listen to anything more than tearout, but have listened to the UK side of brostep.. it definitely has bass, but the reason it isn't bassweight or bassheavy (apart from the fact that it is brostep) is down to production headroom etc. you go make a brostep bassline, put a sub under it, play 1 bar of the brostep, then play 1 bar of the sub alone, there is a difference. (an no, not the lack of screech

i ain't into arguing though, if this is wrong, or whatever, i don't mind, just my 2 cents, and what i've noticed from experience :w:

The people of Vice are horrible "music journalists".

But they are excellent at documentaries. The fact is their documentaries on North Korea are much more entertaining than their "writing works":

Ok. But you didn't explain what changed your mind about Skrillex's music.

Then feel better after watching real journalist David Carr vaporise them in a clash stylee:

Talk about condescending...

Shane Smith (founder of Vice Magazine) says from the beginning that he is trying to reach a different audience than the one that is watching CNN. Just because David Carr types loudly (aka. SLAMS HIS FUCKING KEYBOARD LIKE A MONKEY) doesn't change the fact that Shane presented the story from the perspective of a 'regular guy' trying to gain insight. Pseudo-intellectual chest bumping if you ask me.

I think David learned how to type on an old typewriter, which is why he presses the keys so hard. My dad does the same thing, and it drives me crazy haha.

I never said there was zero bass in it, that was someone else.
But bass is not sub bass. And your 26hz story or whatever, I simply don't buy. And it doesn't matter either.
You're right, t's not as weighty as 'The Goat Stare" far from it, but even if it were, the midranges would just drown that out, which leaves you with the same problem. And I reckon, other than that guys car sound-system perhaps, you'll never be hearing schridkkxj on a 50k soundsystem in a propper setting either, ever. So the whole point is invalid.
The music isn't made for the sub. It's made for tearing out.

My assertion stands.

skrill deffinitly uses a very low sub in some of his beats, didnt think he did until i heard a couple of his tracks through a home cinema system, pretty sure tht speakers didnt cost me mate 50k aswel

i have not got a clue about home cinema setups, it had four tweeters/super tweeters around the room and a big fuckoff sub to go with so im gunna guess 7.1?
