Psy:am wrote:Tunes pretty deep, feeling the ambient vive. I reckon you could add some weight to those kicks. Maybe a deep sub bass in some sections, first note of each bar, add some bass weight, but i reckon that may be just me. Also the sharp inhaling sound is a little sharp at the moment. Do you have any hats atm? And where are those vocals from?
Would appreciate some feedback on the first two tunes on my soundcloud.
Cheers
yeh i am thinking it needs some sub, but my speakers are so shite i cant hear very low frequencies so might have to do that at a later date
the hats are all on the ''snares'' to add volume so no solo hats in the loop as it stands.
vocals are from an aaliyah tune, reverbed and pitched to fcuk.
gonna give your tunes a listen now, thx again for the feedback

holy shit some tunes on here
Ok i'll start with Down the Rabbit Hole - This tune is so sick, i love how you have it creeping in from the first vocals. The main bass sound is incredible, i've tried to make sounds like that in albino3 to no avail.. and the synthy stabs you added at 3:05 go perfectly with it. Not much i can say about this tune its amazing, what do you use to produce?
Londons broken - this is the kind of tunes im into, loving the ambience and what you've done with the vocals, the drums are perfect for the bass and vocals too.
what direction are u going in now with ur tunes? like Down the Rabbit Hole or ambient like London's broken?
look forward to hearing more of your tunes

Cheers mate, appreciate the feedback! Im using fruity loops and the bass sound in 'Down the Rabbit Hole' is from z3ta+. To be honest ive had such a mission to make that sound, ive tried bare times and ive never been able to make it before.
When it comes to listening im more into the deeper and darker stuff but im pretty open minded. Im thinking of going more towards the london's broken road or some sort of hybrid between the two. I love that Distance sound!
If i was you, id get some monitors or at least a decent pair of headphones, itll help you so much.

When this drops its mad! Sick tune, well produced. At some points it does feel like the snare is overused. I also think the snare is too loud and sharp.
Any feedback on 'London's Broken' and 'Down the Rabbit Hole' would be much appreciated

Cheers. I had a listen through your page. Some very nice tunes on there, definitely for the tokers!
I feel London's Broken could do with those end beats with the tambourine in the middle section just to change it up a bit and give the tune a bit of pacing, its a really good tune though.
Rabbit In The Hole - I like the bass but strangely find it a little grating also, can't make my mind up

Maybe if it was used a touch more subtley, more filtered and less metallic sounding in parts then kept as it is in other sections and i think it maybe has a bit too much reverb on it too

would love feedback if anyone is up for a listen
safeeee
Hehe, all the melody in the tune is from a Physical modeling synth on Reaktor, I don't really wanna say what since I wanna keep the synth to myself but its not Japanese
Your tune: I like the build up quite a bit, the vocal is a bit out of time? I don't think the vocal brings anything to the track, the synth work is nice, some more progression would be nice! It just seems like a loop with vocal slapped in there at the moment.

@Jogfuture: I kinda miss random sounds and effects that fit in, it seems so plain without. Your drums are fairly weak and don't stand out very well in the mix. It's a good concept with the vocals and such but you need alot of work still...
@Redjuan: Nice! Real dark stuff you got there, there's a small bass popup sound once in a while that shouldn't be there imo but I guess that's ok. The string synth gets abit boring after a while, try something more with it.

Nah the tunes big man - just work on atmosphere and percussion, progression and variation, whack vocals into a tune never does anything any good! they're only needed if they bring something to the track!

Thats cool cheers, I'll have a play around with the drums and see if I can make them more interesting. I think youre right about the random effects and such, tbh I rushed through to the end and left alotta that stuff out cos I was chuffed about getting the vocals to work :p

Lytr your track is lovely - although as Legend4ry said try adding more parts instead of that vocal!

hi people,
i'm new to dubstep songwriting, though i've been spinning and producing 2 step, garage and nu break for 8 years now, with some releases on french and uk labels.
i've made some dubstep beats recently, one track will be out soon on the uk break label Resin records.
i'd like to know what you think about these tunes:
'space invaderz', 'kinda jazz' (the one which will be out soon, i've got to send the master) and 'dubstep be good to me' (a remix of the beats international classic).
fell free to tell if there's something wrong with them
http://myspace.com/2dbreaks
thanks anyway!
