I'm not sure; is White Lightning a staple in your college dorm room diets?

White lightning was what we used to drink at the local park when we were 15

Well then, yes, they are probably very similar
This is the Western Canadian equivalent (and I'm pretty sure the Pacific NW's too)
ugh

PBR is pretty gross. Heineken's not great but I'd rather that tbh (especially if it's not a skunky bottle).
Frank was a hipster all along.

Meh, PBR is okay as long as you're not paying much for it. Definitely isn't a "proper" beer tho

Yeah I guess that's true, and as long as it's ice cold too. It's miles ahead of stuff like natty. Definitely better than that guy chugging OE 800. Instant headache from those and related trash beers like King Cobra and Steel Reserve. : /
lol @ the related videos of people attempting an OE chugging record. Every one of them is obese.

Yeah as soon as PBR warms up, its a bitch lol.
Anyone wanna try breaking this record?

Got this at my local, a really nice drink to introduce lager drinkers to ale. I still like a lager but they all taste pretty much the same, would much rather try loads of new ales that all taste so different!

you're trying the wrong lagers son
Doombar is awesome, a crappy little offy near mine had loads of good ales bottled, including this one, the guy behind the counter was really into it telling us about all the locally produced beers he's sourced and how he wants to transform the shop, badman
Had some delicious St Peter's IPA yesterday
still waiting for a day of tranquility and sitting around in my pants so I can crack open my bottle of Tokyo

That came across wrong, theres plenty of really nice lagers out there but the stuff on sale in most pubs/supermarkets is trash. very fond of a pale ale for something fizzy

Rogue's new Voodoo Doughnut Ale. Made with bacon and maple syrup. Had one last night. It was insanely good. Duffman approves.

I brewed an Imperial black IPA with home grown hops this year.
It will be ready to present at the table this Thanksgiving.
Gave it a test run last Friday, it's running around 8% abv and is black as night.

I have been interested in wanting to try to brew some beer myself. How long did it take you to get a good batch? Did you have to make a few batches before you got a beer that tasted good or were you able to get good results early on by strictly following a recipe?

It is very simple, if you are adept at following instructions.
I've never made a beer that wasn't enjoyable, and I've made plenty.
I've been growing hops for three years, and this was the first time I used them in a batch. It's fitting for Thanksgiving. Nevertheless, you can put any number of things into your beer and get favorable results.
Starting off with a recipe is key, but you'll learn to experiment over time. The most important thing is sanitation. I also make Apfelwein, which is much more simple.

Big boy ale! It doesn't have the taste of alcohol, but you can feel it in your nose and throat.
I plan on storing some in the cellar until next Thanksgiving... that should mellow her out a bit.
