link me to another forum that you consider well moderated. i really want to see this.
m8, my experience is this: moderation is almost nonexistent on snh, as opposed to other sections, and for me that's the interesting part - to see the people freely expressing themselves.
so things are balancing themselves naturally, and when out of the blue badger decides to pass by and take action once in a while, instead of helping he causes even more stir most of the cases, usually because he's biased by his obvious strong feelings towards members/topics, his grounds for action are as solid as his intelligence and his morals are non-existent. there's been a few other good interventions as well imo, not sure by whom, maybe him too, but those "signed" by badger usually had this effect. take it or leave it, there is no link to approve/disprove what i said better than the one you're on

if you want to defend badger by saying "this is about as good as it can get" and leave the whole responsibility on the crowd, or just a small group of people, this is exactly what you shouldn't do, because mods' job is to manage the crowds, innit? so you can't say: "he worked on the situation here very hard but he has no responsibility for it". it's not possible in this universe. either he is not involved or he is responsible, get meh?

i'm aware i owe a lot to dsf, my actions here may appear one way or another, depending on who and how perceives things, but as things always turn my way sooner or later, some people saw and some will see my shit never is founded on negative motivations and rarely did wrong to dsf, so take the dark shades off your eyes when you talk to me, breathe deeply, calm down and think :!:

peace
You are quite intelligent and always seem to have something to say, you also seem to love yourself abit too much. Maybe the combination of these things is why you are the only one thinking like this
obviously, but how do you know i'm not the only one? many people don't open themselves that much fearing all sorts of outcomes, that doesn;t mean they don;t think this way
Or maybe no one else cares.

Yes I am very Jealous of you

You make threads getting people to try and prove your logic wrong and argue with people just for the sake of winning. That's not appearing smart that's going out of your way to look smart.

that doesn't even make sense. the only way for this to be done democratically is for every decision to go to a public vote which is never going to happen and wouldn't work even if it did, and you'd just be complaining about people ganging up on you if decisions went against you. i don't know what specifically you're referring to but i don't only step in when some people are involved. i had to warn two people on this forum that i consider mates today and if they overstep the mark again they'll be dealt with just like anyone else. the reason you and bass hertz may have appeared to have been dealt with heavy handedly is because both of you persistently acted in a way that i (and others) consider trolling, and as a result actions and posts that wouldn't be so significant if taken in isolation take on a different complexion. anyway, you've had enough arguing with me and i've had enough arguing with you so there's no point carrying on with this
democracy is not [only] voting, is being all equal in the eyes of the law
other than that, i'm not interested in what you have to say because you proved yourself being one of the dumbest people here, i was talking to seckle when i started this discussion

If you were that smart and wanted to have a little 1-to-1 love session you would have used the PM button instead.

yeah, i run for the golden medals they give away here...
how do you test truth if not asking people bang its head against the wall to see where it's not solid and where it cracks?
it's not my problem you have an issue with my intelligence, the first sing of intelligence is to not feel put down by other people's intelligence, try that!

i didn't want anything and i don't care what you think an intelligent man should do. things went that way and i didn't start it

Or maybe some of us just find it annoying when people try and act all important on the internet with their egos.

it's always the others who give you importance, you can't get that on yourself like a tee, tell that to "some of us"

Intelligence is tacky. I stopped going to the MENSA club because they were so 'intelligent' they missed the forest by seeing the trees. Only the dumbest of animals could use self proclaimed intelligence to unintelligently isolate themselves. Mensa was like being in a staff room of high school teachers - each person specialises in an area they consider to define 'intelligence' yet 90% of these never understood transferable skills. They'd be the kind to dismiss the most intelligent 'Chinese' person (for example) as stupid based on the fact they spoke broken English, and vice versa. At the end of the day, you're spending your time explaining your mind to people you class as perhaps inferior (once again, like a junior school chemistry teacher restricted to bullshit bucket science).

All I'm saying, is intelligence can be depressing if it's treated like a swimming device. To me, intelligence is a way of interpretating and observing the world, not a method in which knowledge is forced out of Archemide's bathtub by displacement

EUREKA!

i give importance to THIS GUY's words most of the time, guess why?

BBJ, i don't give a shit on mensa, parson does
i like one definition of intelligence, the one about the ability to connect dots, the further away they seem from each other, the smarter the person that connect them. but this is as far as i go, the rest is pretty practical with me: finding the working answers to problems and questions i need to bother with.

as for the others, you should teach me a lesson and stop giving me so much importance, see how much i hurt, you totally deviated the thread in order to stress my lack of importance, this is a bit oxiMORONIC, innit?

haha yeah man, MENSA is a total fucking waste of beards. Full of boring twats on about gliders etc, I couldn't get a word in edge ways about my project on synthesising hallucinogens. Problem is it's hard to show the extents of idiosyncratic interests without coming across as a dictionary... For example when I happily found a load of my old spider pics and stuck them on here with a bit of shite. It was 5 minutes of reading to the world that represented 20 years of learning haha, but the fact people seemed intruiged is always enough of a sign that they don't need spoon feeding

Also on a funnier note, MENSA officials absolutely hate it when you purposely do a Fruedian slip and refer to it as 'MENCAP' haha, give it a whirl

when intelligence becomes a purpose, not a tool, it loses its point
it needs studied and pushed, but seems to me mensa guys are there to blow each other

i thought i wasnt gonna get involved with this thread but looks like i am now, but just to say this - DSF isnt a democracy, so why expect it to run like one? its just a forum, and doesnt need to obey political laws to decide things - badger is mod for a reason, whatever reason that is, and that means that if he decides a topic is worth banning, then he gets to ban it. Obviously, you have a right to state an opinion as to whether this is right, but arguing about it for so long is just not worth it - noones mind is going to change from seeing this thread. Either pm dubway and make your opinion known, or put up with what happens here. I think its pretty obvious after following the forum for long enough what kinda posting pushes the buttons to get banned, so just avoid that or face the consequences. and yeah, it is true that not everyone gets banned for doing certain things that other people get banned for, but most of the people ive seen get banned have been banned for consistently pushing the boundaries, rather than a one off incident. and after all, badger is just a person like all of us, and this forum is not his sole purpose in life - im sure he has better things to do than make sure every single post in the forum adheres to all the rules from everyone who posts in the forums perspective.
