I don't think it needs a release, Swish is a killer and I think it should stay that way!
Its already coming out though
which is good as it'll be nice to add to the collection,

BUT

at the same time it's material like this that makes everyone go mad during a live set, so the vibe won't be as mental now!
I hope Pinch is making (or made) a Swish VIP.

Swish is a slightly different release but does anyone recall the release Education and on the B-side Horrid Henry...

I still live to this today why Coki chose to release Horrid Henry, it was a "End of coki set banger track", but I feel it's lost that vibe when it got released... it's just, nah! Not a good choice really. You can't mix the song and it's not the same hearing it anywhere but a Coki set!

See where you're coming from but there will definitely be more songs that will do the same ;)

That's one of the things that I find fantastic and frustrating about dubstep.

You hear these mental exclusives out in the dance, on the radio, etc, and you feel like "I MUST HAVE IT". I think it's good that most producers hold onto the tunes for a little while. It keeps them special. Eventually though, you (most of the time) get to hold the tune yourself. Which is wonderful because you get to hear it in full quality, play it whenever you want, and of course mix it into your own sets. But of course the downside of that is then, it's lost that moment. That little bit that keeps it that extra bit special. Which is why, over time, I more and more understand the DMZ thing about keeping exclusives for years.

Of course the alternative then is making VIPs. The Roteks VIP is a good example. It's just different enough to rejuvenate the tune and make it special again in the club, but it's also not so different that I'm that bothered about getting it released so I can play it myself.

Did you really just equate Swish to a Coki track, and then proceed to say it didn't need to be released. I'm finding it difficult to make sense of anything else that has been said since, but suffice it to say: No, I don't agree!

I don't think anyone can, and as a person who has had only heard this live when Pinch dropped it on a mediocre sound system this track goes off then, now and every time its drawn: period... my own only complaint is it should have been released long ago, even before even that Loefah collab. I'm sure anyone at the last DMZ wouldn't be complaining if they got to hear Terminate or the Original Memory Loss (though the VIP is my personal fav). Swish is still only played by a handful of people, I don't see that changing.

Me and countless others will soon be playing it. :4:

I think Swish had the power to be dubplate only and I wouldn't of complained but the fact Pinch is finally on Deep Medi (where he deserves to be) and the fact I can't wait to put this tune in my next mix is exciting too!

from the june issue of mixmag: Pinch is releasing his 155bpm jungle-influenced 'Tunnel Home' on a Deep Medi 12", with 'Swish', in June

What, at home and then on to your soundcloud? Or do you actually command the frequent bookings at major venues where this could create the presumed issue being made?

I think I take issue with this absurd notion of idealizing exclusivity which many of you uphold; you are not Youngsta nor Distance with the privileges such connections afford in the community, so why--as I would imagine you to be first and foremost--a fan of the music see it beneficial to deny it to be in the hands of others? (For whatever purposes they may be.) I mean I've been toying with mixing in my limited spare time for a few months now, but its unlikely I'll ever get a booking mainly because of my selection, location and understanding of what dubstep actually is, but my actual ambition in doing so is not to acquire said booking but rather to play the tracks that I like in higher quality, even if I'm only playing to myself. And, just as you are likely to have done, have have found Swish to be crucial and highly desirable since first having heard it.

Its this, and I hate to use this term, convoluted form of elitism that excludes others, evidently yourself included, from having what is being allowed by the producer to be sold... I'll stop myself here because this begins to extend into extolling the virtues of Free Market Capitalism, which I have regrettably done here once more to my psychological detriment and patience.

So I'll end by saying: bag on sight. Big up The Pinch!

i really dont understand what the arguments are about. swish is a massive tune. i've been wetting myself to get it since i first heard it and im sure many others have too so why would anyone think they wouldnt release it? surely producers make music for other people... they don't just make an amazing song and then just give it to five people and leave it there?

I'm not sure anyone's arguing. Just an interesting discussion about exclusives.

Anyway, I asked Pinch this evening and Tunnel Home is definitely the flip.
