balls the the politics, thats not what dubstep is about...
"East London" is pretty fucking big with alot of Warehouses lol, so we'll be cool, i'm sure the Met have got enough else on their plate to worry about...
heres to a good night, with good vibes- proper looking forward to it
we're all here cos we share the same love for dubstep
whats done is done, lets go have a fucking blinder tonite!

yep i agree, there is no doubt in my mind that this is gonna be heavy- u may have to turn ppl away, or 1 in 1out it, but otherwise i can only see this being a wicked night- exaclty what dubstep needs!
Chantelle- Electric Minds is at Unit 7, which is a legit venue with a warehousish atmosphere. ITs a different kettle of fish plugging that one, cos there are no legality issues.
Anyway, I doubt Abacus sort who would discriminate against 'london paper readers'. A partyline in the paper just gets ppl who have put weeks into organising and event a bit worried

yep, they're going on after 2:30 but macabre unit are on about 1:45 so be there for that for sure, can't wait for them too!

hxw and rootsteady before that, a bit past 12 and 1 respectively, they do their own productions and mix in a bit of others' so check it out if you want to hear some fresh talents. i'm going to be playing from 11:30 to a bit after 12 i think, though i don't know what on earth i'll be playing. i can't play my dubstep bangers cos they'll be much of that and better later in the night, but thats all i've been buying lately so the rest of my records are late. been too busy with the party to even THINK about my set... so expect a wobbly one from me.

and i don't mean the bass wobble. synthektik and easychord before me.
yes yes, watch out for HXW's productions fucken heavy sick as fuck!and def catch rootsteadys set!

I don't really do forums but I felt compelled to re-sign up to respond to you. It's rather ironic that this morning Electric Minds, the other such party mentioned, contacted me to thank me for plugging their event. I then log in to myspace and receive a rather patronising message from someone called Dan, not sure if that's you or who it is. I'll say here what I said there though... we have a free press because we're a democracy. Unless I need a quote, If a night is being promoted with flyers or other viral means, I don't see the need to request 'approval'.
Where illegal parties are concerned, if you're concerned about authorities or 'the wrong people' (I take it you don't want London Paper readers there) then why not do it flash style/word of mouth?
In my experience the only illegal parties that have been shut down are the ones which are poorly organised, have no respect for health and safety and are generally causing problems in the area.
For the record, I didn't even know whose event this was and the info wasn't from the forum but a blog.
All the best with your event.
sorry to hear about the myspace message, it wasn't me (though i can't promise that it wasn't some of the boys in my crew; no dan with us but someone with a similar name). as i said in my message, i was/am a bit pissed but i certainly wasn't slagging you off, so in my books its all chill. i know you meant well and i do appreciate it but yea, as AmitG said, that other venue is legit building where the promoters wouldn't be worried about being thrown out -- ours is a squat, so its a lot more fragile. (though for all you people, don't worry about being arrested you jokers, not going to happen! by attending or playing at this party you're not doing anything criminal!!!)
if you didn't get it from this forum then can't be helped, its because of the details you gave that i thought you must be reading the forum, and if you were reading it from here, you might have realized (by the title of this thread, for example) that it was a squatted venue, and known it was a bit sensitive. no one said that you *couldnt*, just that if you thought about it you might have some empathy for our situation and chosen not to put it in a paper with thousands and thousands of readers (though bring on the london paper types, lets convert 'em to dubsteppas... just not the police!). or as i say, if you weren't sure it was going to be headache for us, just sent a quick pm to ask.
i'm know you know the stress of putting on parties (out to all fellow female promoters) -- then add a level of uncertainty that comes with doing it in a illegit venue, where absolutely everything is DIY, and you'll know why the london paper thing just wasn't helpful. squat parties have fliers/forum postings all the time, but i've never known one to get a write up in a paper so its not something we took major precautions against. lessoned learned though, either dubstep is too big for squat parties or we're going to have to be super excloose next time!
anyway, i've got a million things to do! off with the politics, on with the music! see you all tonight.

I thought i had recovered from bloc weekend but i thought wrong.
Ended up crashing out, waking up around 5 and then made me way to the party. Was well impressed with the location (as i was 5 mins round the corner) and venue and when i got in, the place was fully avin it to N-Type. Gutted to have missed a majority of the sounds though...
Big up everyone feeling the Jungle - 6am Stamina crew...Place was going off, best crowd i played to in a while..Got some decent video which will be up soon.
Well done Heva - was happy to be involved..

Just woke up - what a wicked party.
The venue was amazing, the djs all killed it (especially racket - wicked set) and the system was quite impressive. I feel like I'm going to be tired for a week now.
