Also it's worth knowing I rang the guy that does this at like 6 pm on a Sunday and he was more than happy to help me out with this issue I had. Yeah top man and a great little service!

I'm gonna order a 12" acetate from dubstudio next week. Thoughts?

I'd say go for vinyl, especially if its your first plate. Acetate does sound better than vinyl cuts but after a a few plays on anything less than a perfectly set up turntable and needle combination, it will sound a lot worse and be much harder or impossible to cue.

I've had acetates cut at transition before, never used dubstudio. I didn't word it right, I was asking for opinions on them
Also the acetate i have from transition still sounds really good. Cueing is fine on it too

Got 2 10" acetates 2 weeks ago from Dubstudio and they sound great, I reckon the 12" will sound even better

i would like to but i can't produce at all i got ableton from my cousin but it is just not working all out for me and i have no idea how to get tunes from other producers to cut on dubplate so i think it would take a while before i have one.

talk to any mates you have who make decent beats and ask them for wavs
or get really good at mixing and make producers want to give you dubs, either locally or on the internet

i think the second option is the best one for me then

i haven't got around to cutting any of either so i'm no expert but i think acetates are meant to sound a bit better than vinyls, especially on a system. they're a lot more fragile than vinyl dubs though and can wear out after so many plays (though i've heard this is exaggerated?)

regret bigging up eds vinyl now. it is true that one the plates i got from them still sounds very fresh however since then, i have received two shit sounding plates. i mean like they sound like a two balloons rubbing together at parts and the guy has been very unhelpful with this problem.
would not recommend them now

used both eds vinyl and dubstudio, definatly worth the extra cash for dub studio
