I for one am a fairly big fan of metal. Don't listen to it as much but still a fair amount. Prefer punk though.

Screamo has some of the best music ever created. Check Raein, Louise Cyphre, La Quiete, Yaphet Kotto. Actual stuff, a lot of power from bands like that.

Good tune, took me a while to get into Orchid for some reason then it kinda clicked one day.

All time favourite, well the entire album is:-

used to be big into stoner, doom, sludge, grind etc etc. always the dirtier side of underground metal. never got into the long hair, black clothes kinda thing.

big bands for me were:

iron monkey (so fucking good AND from notts!!)

sloth (cant recommend these enough! voice of god is an incredible album)
5ive (not the pop band)
palehorse
electric wizard
orange goblin
dukes of nothing
kyuss
fu manchu

and many many more that have started to slip from my memory.

got sick of the elitism and shit. also, started taking drugs and its quite difficult to find metal that's appropriate for messy times. once i started getting into trip hop/hip hop/downtempo for the comedown and stuff it was a slippery slope. then jungle reared its head and metal got kicked to the curb! never looked back really. still have a cheeky listen to some metal every now and again though.
