Yeah I don't get your point at all, you ask a question and reject all the answers... -q-
I was just giving my pov as member of this forum. And to me, Brostep is going mainstream, on a smaller scale than Brit-Brit that's all. You're always mainstream in opposition to something more underground aren't you ? So I could say "yeh fuck DMZ they're mainstream, my mate who has 30 fans on his facebook page is real underground"

This is actually the bottom line.

I've had a load to drink tonight so hopefully the following will make sense, I've just thought of this:

Imagine you're a Ferrari enthusiast, you've had a massive passion for their work ever since they started producing sports cars. The reason you had such passion in the first place was because they put in so much hard work and brought loads of originality to an already saturated market which nobody else seemed to bring.
Now imagine a few years later they bring out a very average car to test the waters, to see if it would sell. This car still has some of the things that make Ferrari great, It still has style and character and whatever magic Ferrari has.
Anyway, this car sells bigtime, people still recognise the Ferrari badge and know that it's something special under the bonnet so it's a winner. They've sold more of these cars than any of their previous cars, and made 3X as much profit as they originally did.
So naturally, it's not within their interests to lose money as a company so they start pumping out generic family cars, to increase profits they buy cheaper parts, spend no money developing unique characteristics to their cars and make them appeal to everyone.
At the end of this there is you, half of you is happy that they are growing as a company and making money, but on the other hand you've lost all respect for them. The passion that connected you with them in the first place has gone, they're not doing anything special or respectable, they left behind everything that was so important to them and which made them stand out from the rest and now are purely in the whole thing for the money.
And then you get bitched at constantly for even hinting that they've "sold out". No matter how much you defend yourself with good reason, there will always be people ignorant enough to say that "they're still the same as they ever where" when infact they only ever heard of them once they was on every TV or radio advert.
And then for the most part the cycle continues.

For the record I don't have an interest in cars or Ferrari, it's just the only thing I could think of whilst smashed.
Hoping to god this makes sense...

THIS SHOULD BE STICKIED
FUCKING WORD UP

why do people get so butt hurt over people hating on brostep and commercial, and just respond with 'you do it to look cool' or 'hipster'. i used to think the same way until i realised the music i thought i enjoyed was slowly being turned into a series of unrelated and wank noises spaced between beats. i used to like flux pavilion for example when he first came about, then over the last year or so watched his quality and originality slowly decline as his popularity increased and circus was formed etc. you start to really hate brostep (and lose faith in humanity) when you see a bunch of sweaty dinlos with their t shirts off at mass in brixton pushing each other around to funtcase, then the dance clearing out when the likes of kryptic minds or kromestar step up and dare to drop a tune with some musical content
exactly. people just dont appreciate the low sub bass style of dubstep these days and listen to their poorly produced mid range wobble dubstep

there's no cabal of dubstep hipsters that only listen to it because of its relative obscurity... contrary to what some people may say NOBODY listens to music because its obscure, people listen to music because they like it.

that being said, brostep stinks and that happens to be the sound catching on in the mainstream. it would still stink even if nobody listened to it.

Because God watches you masturbate at night, and this displeases him. This is the explanation for any other questions asked in this thread.

OP wrote:Why are dubstep fans against Mainstream so Much? Like you guys DONT want to see Dubstep get popular. That is backwards thinking. And you all seem to be ANTI-money.
it pleases me
that these values are still evident,
even if not as universal as you contend.

as for why...
it's difficult to say without insulting you
or sounding otherworldly

but I hope yu keep wondering.
