Didn't you say you originally studied psychology? Did you miss the first year classes about innate vs learned behavior? Culture is shared learned behavior. If a culture lacks a value or an emphasis pertaining to a specific subject or risk identification even if you are told it is bad it does not register as it conflicts with the culture they are a part of.

This is why it took generations for Americans to understand that smoking is bad. It had to become ingrained in our culture. It had to become a basic fundamentally identified risk for our culture. People in the 60s were told smoking was bad but it did not register because it had not become imbedded into their risk/reward analysis as a culture.

This country does not have an expanded knowledge base about drug abuse. There are no DARE classes in the slums. No Scruff McGruff on TV.... let alone many people in the slums able to watch tv on a regular basis or even attend school. There is no avenue for this learned behavior. Learned behaviors our country didn't understand with heroin and opium for years despite warnings from asia.

These are basic psychological points. Kids who major in art history and need an elective to fill their schedule study these topics extensively yet you want us to believe you at one time were a psychology major?
