Yeah but this is a guy in a mad costume doing mad stuff and not really protesting at anything. There's a chance he needs mental health and I doubt very much there's any real equivalence with the case I can't read.

And yet those calling for the head of the protestor will not fail to remind us that protests direspect those that gave their lives for freedom

oh come on. by that logic you could just drive around grabbing people behaving in a way that's not the social norm and throwing them in psychiatric wards until it's been made sure they're not actually mentally ill. cause, you know, they very well could be. it's not like you can see that from looking at someone eh?

Can we employ the smallest amount of context here please. Not behaving to the social norms, is hammering Kahn out on my car stereo. Getting dressed up in a pink corset wearing rabbit ears and skateboarding through what is effectively an annual mass funeral is slightly different.

Ah, fair enough. That warrants arrest imo.

Not really. You can do that just to piss people off. Doesn't mean you have any mental problems, just that you might be a tnuc.

According to wobbles though it wasn't a particularly unusual thing for him to do though it's the actual context that made this newsworthy to whatever extent it should be. I also think it's incredibly unliklely that he'd be sectioned rather than arrested unless there were real mental health concerns. Mental health beds are more expensive than prison beds

Not really...
if this is the stage we've got to, then I'm out.

Now you're taking things out of context. All I said was that it doesn't mean you have mental issues if you dress up in a pink corset with rabbit ears and skateboard through an annual mass funeral.

it doesn't, but let's be honest with each other, chances are probably higher than your average joe on the street.

Look, none of us know about his mental state. He might have started ranting all sorts of psychotic stuff, we don't know so you can't say being sectioned is unnecessary.
Anyway, burning poppies and ruining a memorial service, IMO is hate mongering or whatever you wanna call it and it's also being an absolute knob and should be a criminal offense.

I know someone who got sectioned for randomly wandering into a military base while off his head on mushrooms. Took a while time get him out. He's still fucked up now 7 years later. Pretty sure social services weren't involved.

He was a dick though to be fair
