Well reese isn't really a preset most people make their own and it can vary quite a lot what it sounds like.

I forgot I was supposed to make a brutal electro tune, thank goodness this thread is here to remind me

Well, I've been in the hardstyle production scene for quite a while.
And there they have the same problem with kicks.
Most new producers use "Hardkick10" for the punch of a kick.
But I really don't know why people are against using pre-sets.
As long they are used in a good way you won't hear me complain.

And there they have the same problem with kicks.
Most new producers use "Hardkick10" for the punch of a kick.
But I really don't know why people are against using pre-sets.

Where is Hardkick10 from? I never heard of it. As far as drums go I personally have a few go to sounds. I call them utility sounds because they hit the frequencies I like drums to hit at then I layer other sounds to make it sound a little different each tune.

As I said, it is mainly used in the Hardstyle scene.
It's a ready-to-go hardstyle punch for a so-named "nu-style kick". (Hard punch, long tail, heavy bass)
It's from one of Blutonium boy's sample packs.
Many semi-pro/pro producers dislike it because it is extremely over-used.

Basically all I'm saying is that the brutal electro patch is very little more than one of massive's wavetable oscillators, other synths are not going to have the same oscillator shape/waveform so it will be much more complex to make a sounds like this in any other synth.

20-30 random producers should go and continuously use one of the other presets like "Alba Starstruck" and use that only for the next year, so when it gets popular someone can make another thread like this in 2011.
