holy shit was that terrible, opening act played a 2 hour set that was just god awful, dude wasn't even mixing. He had a pre-recorded set and was just playing a midi controller like a keytar the whole time

finally avicci comes on, everyone goes nuts, he mixes into one of his own tracks, and it's all 4x4 no bassline garbage, and it's so much fun to "dance" in a stadium seat... couldn't handle it, had to leave early

I don't know how dudes can get so pumped up to see a guy like that in an arena, tix were like $30~50 as well, complete waste of money, and i was pissed b/c i ended up spending $5 on a cab

In fact, not exactly "that" feel, but last year I buy for my and my ex tickets to a festival just couse was hot chip last presentation here.
300 lulas (almost 150 obamas) just on the tickets, they put the fucking band in a fucking indie stage with the worst sound u can imagine, there was like no support for nothing and the worst: it was in a fucking closed place (the rest of the stuff was open-air). Fucking chairs! and was like nobody, just me and my girl, she started bitching couse smashing pumpkins was playin in the main stage, she take her things and go there alone. I just stared at the band and they look at me. It was like "sorry bout that bro". And then i go to smashing pumpkins, and they were playing a cover of moby dick by led zeppelin. :cornlol: all the guys like :x WERES 1979 and I just :|

3 weeks after we broke up.

Now she finished the college, is working on a 3k$ job. I stopped in the high school, my actual girl is my boss, i just got paid when she want and a ex-emo is destroying my fav genre.

:w:

I hate when you go to see a show and like no ones there...

same thing happened to me at a festival in pittsburgh where egyptrixx was playing and someone else was on the other stage (don't even remember who) turned around after the set was over, and there was maybe 5 other guys in this whole warehouse...

then of course me and my 3 friends made up pretty much the entire audience 2 years ago for Joe Nice

The rusko concert i went to recently was a complete letdown, until rusko played. the first 2 opening sets were god awful. all i remember is white noise. rising white noise, drop, rising white noise, drop. it was basically mindless. the 3rd house set was pretty decent, i could actually enjoy the music. up until rusko dropping i was considering leaving, but then the place bleww uppppp for 2 1/2 straight hours. id say rusko does just as much mc'ing and dancing as he does djing :cornlol:

Rusko isn't really a DJ anymore, he's more just a selector. I haven't heard him actually mix or blend in like 3 years lol

Yep. Saw him a couple years ago in Columbus and I swear he wheeled back 3/4 of the tunes he played.

since when did we start calling a DJ set a concert or a show? since when did we start focusing more on the selector than the selection?

Come now, act like if there was 2 dj's playing the same set you wouldn't go see Youngsta instead of Rusko. :?
It's a skill that you can become quite proficient in, with enough practice, and people get recognition for that.
That being said, it's way out of proportion over here. A name means alot more than skill, sadly, not the other way around. I don't understand where people get the impression that producing=djing. Ignorant non-reasarching-money-hungry-tnuc-licking-mongrels.
For example, i was speaking to a promoter, and i was asking what i would have to do for a time slot at a local club, and he told me i would have to release a successful song. Not a mix. cigarette. Haha.

Well i would call it a set, but it wasnt. Ruskos bit was a set, the rest was just a.. show. the first 3 acts didnt do any mixing at all, in fact im pretty sure rusko was the only person with a set of tables all night. Even then, Rusko's "set" was most all his tunes, with a few other tracks thrown it. So the selector was basically the selection  . The 4 or so hours of house made me want to :u:
