Anyone think a shared tuna dropbox would be good idea? You could put your tracks for the week and stems/project files if you were up for a remix

Have you checked out Splice? Looks really cool and I'd be keen to get some collabs/remixes going on that.

hm a shared dropbox would be cool so we still would have a place even if the tuna disappears for now
like drop a tune and the other can leave a textmessage with tips

I haven't had the chance to properly use it yet. Basically it looks like an organised way to save versions of a project with notes for each version within the project like things you've changed. You can make it public or shareable with specific people.
I guess its just more organised than constant sending of stems/projects back and forth, though I;ve never even done that myself.
Some people just have open projects so you can just look at how they've produced stuff and get tips.

its a collabo everytime

I do believe firmly in same room collaboration. I don't even know how people do it online. I've never been overly impressed with online collaborations. I usually feel the sum of the parts is less than the sum of the individuals, whereas in same room collaborations the sum of the parts is greater than the sum of the individuals. The fire happens.
Bud, I was referring to sending our tracks to you for posting of the TUNA!
Though you are a freaking factory.

a shit sorry
yeah i could host it no problem aslong as i got enough free time but i thought defaultuzr was offering his help?!
you got my pm nowaysj? but yeah if you dont have the time this week i can host the tuna
yeah honestly i cringe from time to time when i hear some collabos it feels like too forced, too much fear of losing some fans if not any party gets its own sound squeezed into the tune

Don't forget, send your tracks to Bud. I for some reason have '95 upload speeds with SC right now. I know they're free and everything, but I think I'mma need stop paying these fucks.
So Bud, track from me when all these ants can carry these bits over these wires all the way to mountainous Germany.

the tuna marches on!
btw i agree with everyones feeling that in person collabs are better than online. If any Tuna-ers (Tunettes?, Tunites?) ever find yourself in the West Midlands for whatever reason, you're always more than welcome to crash at mine and make bare tunes

great submissions all around this week (and to think you wanted to kill that tuna, nowaysj o ye of little faith

)
@Bud:
Share my world: maybe just my headphones (actually probably my lo-fi headphones b2b shitty soundcloud compression) but
the mixdown sounds a bit muddy to me.
aside from that, nice tune, though i feel the arrangment could be a bit less sparse even if its just adding a few incidental
atmospheric elements. also maybe i'd suggest a change in the melody for the second part?
Frosch: man this is sick! simple, yet effective. especially liking the last part with the glitches in the vocals and the snares,
though i feel the end is a bit too abrupt? also maybe you could put some FX on that single piano note you use as a stab?
@nowaysj: wow, serious discotheque wreckage potential here, moreso than anything you submitted to tuna so far imo. cannot really
fault it, aside that it should be longer and more dj friendly (ie don't make it end so abruptly, hook a brother with an outro to mix out)
not sure what the metallic womp sound in the background is (appears first at 0:31)? sample? or coming out a synth? anyway,i feel it could have a more important role.
also maybe the second part could be more distinguishably different than the first, but maybe not... are you going to rework this one (since its on private)?
@yilan: sick work on the pitched drum hits, also like how you keep it fresh throughout with the various glitches. cannot really think of any useful feedback tho

i don't know, i'd say this one's finished, see if you can make another one in the same vein?

faultier wrote:single piano note you use as a stab?
:3 you mean the one on the snare i dont remember putting a piano in haha
i think its the snare with a supertight combfilter but agree def could raise the space of the tune
i dunno the oto concept one sounds clean to me maybe bit "dull" i was wondering if it could need some more highend overall
but yeah the bass is kinda muddy on purpose
will try to give feedback soonish
