Having experienced it first hand, it was good in its infancy and adolescence IMO, mainly the output of the brainfeeder dudes... Ras G, Flylo, Samiyam, etc. Was good for a couple of years, got shit too fast unfortunately and hasn't really been good at all in like the last 2/3 years at least. Some diamonds in the rough every once in a while but generally uninteresting

unfortunately not as interesting as i'd like (might just be me though).

there's the beat scene obviously, which is basically low end theory on wednesdays (although the crowd has gotten progressively worse, they still have some decent guests, like faltydl a few weeks back) and then the wedidit and affiliated people throwing parties every once in a while (very meh). there's sporadic smaller shows, but like talked about earlier, in my eyes it's not really fresh sounding stuff

no "cool local things" (as far as i know, maybe im not cool enough to know bout them). i guess there's the boiler room but it's pretty hit or miss. other than that the best regular nights we have are smog sundays who have brought out guys like digital mystikz, kahn, goth trad, rustie, von d, kode9, distance, tunnidge, yunx, and icicle over the last year or so.

in general LA feels very much like its pretty behind the curve, it has the beat scene (or what's left of it) and otherwise it's just weakly echoing things that other places are doing. nothing original or exciting tbh


but maybe im spoiled and don't know it. youre in melbourne right (or am i pulling that out of my ass). how's stuff look over there?

i dont tend to go out to a great many raevs atm. there is stuff on all the time but im not that keen on the venues (shit sound, overregulated, expensive as fuk drinks, wanker secruity, bro crowds - teh ususal lol)

as far as i know there is nothing at all intertesting going on here at all its a backwater - well comparend to london whuch had loads of sick small venues with banging sound...had night slugs a couple weeknds ago and actress rave in a couple weeks ill def get down to here but yeh...tbh i prefer the smaller locla nights. better vibe.

im probably (i am definately) 'jaded' tho and jsuyt focus on work until i get abck to london later in year
