i haven't gone yet but i heard low end is full of like post-hipstrs from like 2011. i like gaslamps persona , his energy is cool and that influences me.Phigure wrote:unfortunately not as interesting as i'd like (might just be me though).incnic wrote:yeh i had the misfortune of seeing gaslamp killer and glicthmob in london abour 4 years ago....i had to leave lol
4 bros on laptops 'brocking out' in a really embarrassing way
it was rammed in rythm factory but people were gobsmacked at what knobs these dudes were being jumping around and pressing space bar
wankers lol
are you in LA? what intersting stuff is on there? must be some cool local tyhings going down?
there's the beat scene obviously, which is basically low end theory on wednesdays (although the crowd has gotten progressively worse, they still have some decent guests, like faltydl a few weeks back) and then the wedidit and affiliated people throwing parties every once in a while (very meh). there's sporadic smaller shows, but like talked about earlier, in my eyes it's not really fresh sounding stuff
no "cool local things" (as far as i know, maybe im not cool enough to know bout them). i guess there's the boiler room but it's pretty hit or miss. other than that the best regular nights we have are smog sundays who have brought out guys like digital mystikz, kahn, goth trad, rustie, von d, kode9, distance, tunnidge, yunx, and icicle over the last year or so.
in general LA feels very much like its pretty behind the curve, it has the beat scene (or what's left of it) and otherwise it's just weakly echoing things that other places are doing. nothing original or exciting tbh
but maybe im spoiled and don't know it. youre in melbourne right (or am i pulling that out of my ass). how's stuff look over there?
edit: oh wait i forgot to mention our banging trap scene
Yeah Il be honest I didnt google it first.
Theres half an hour of his System set on Vivek's latest Rinse show. + he went b2b with Hatcha on Kiss a few months ago. Can't think of any others,Liam92 wrote:Commodo done any mixes recently?
