It has the massive benefit though that anyone who you do end up becoming friends with, you usually become very close and those people love you for who you are

None of the random people I talk to develop into friends. But it's not really the kind of scenario to develop into friends. Some people, older people usually, remember how it was, when we all lived in the real world, and related to each other, shared a common experience.

I notice a lot of old people say hello to me if I'm walking on the street.
