It honestly makes me sad that I'll probably never hear this one.
Such a beautiful track.
I keep hoping that maybe 20 years down the line, all these producers will give away their wav files to us middle aged men and women.
It's what keeps me going

Haha that'd be amazing. Skanking in our 40s to all these unreleased bangers.
Amazing remix.

the saddest thing for me about this tune is that when i heard it out live (the one and only time i've heard it)...i turned to my friend and said "this is probably the only time we're ever going to hear this, so you better enjoy it"
the vibe i get from this song is that it'll be one of those ones where it gets played a couple times when it was created and then just disappears
and there's no way it'll see a release, just out of the obvious respect james has for mala (if we're talking white label release)
the only way i see it seeing a 12" is if it went with the distance remix on deep medi and i doubt mala has any intention of doing that. shame really

yeah, this track gets me emotional for reasons other than it's sheer beauty(THOSE CELLOS) and the fact that I'm on the other side of the planet and will probably never get the chance to see mala or blake play a set.
the existence of tracks like this really speak to the ephemerality of music, and how we're blessed to have shit from the masters, like Mahler or Beethoven around after hundreds of years. while we may not be able to preserve this, there's so much wonderful music out there that will never be lost, and for that we should be grateful.
speaking of, I'm seeing Beethoven's 9th performed in about a month!

This could be totally BS but some guy on another forum (I know I know) reckons he straight up asked James Blake if it will ever get released at a gig in Glasgow and he said No and he only plays it if he thinks the crowd would feel it or something along those lines.
I still hold out a slither of hope

the problem with hearing this tune on a massive rig and with serious vibes is...
you want it again.
it's similar to heroin i guess

I did the exact same thing. It really makes you take it all in and enjoy the tune. I don't mind if it's never getting released, it's so unique and that makes it even more special.

This never even been played in a radio/online mix? Something a bit better than a phone recording of it live. Brings a tear to my eye everytime i hear it. =[

To be honest James Blake is only hurting himself by not releasing this. For people like me who live on the exact opposite side of the world to England, we will never get the opportunity to hear this. He should get 7 copies of it cut to dubplate and send one out to each continent like the dragon balls. What ever happened to music being for the people? Sounds like he's just selfishly hoarding it.
EDIT: I have a better idea. Someone rock up to one of his gigs with a good quality studio mic strapped to their chest. This has the added bonus of being able to hear the persons heart beat as this epic tune fills the sonic airwaves.

Do it!

Only heard half of it ever, was playing when I came in from the smoking area at DMZ 6th Birthday. James Blake's gonna be at this R&S records thing I'm going to on Saturday, if he plays it, I might have to just rob the plate from the turntable.
Also, every time I see this bumped, even though I know the chance is zero, a tiny part of me hopes that someone has posted about a release or something.
