i just wanted to be a part of this.

when i was young i got upset about jungle and dnb turning into someting i wasnt happy about... then when it happened to dubstep i almost felt the same before reminding myself that the music i like still exists... it is still out there... and THAT I DONT OWN THE SCENE!

i cant think of anything more to write other than dont hate the player, hate the game... infact, if its got that far then accept you are a sore loser and perhaps you should stick to playin games your more confident of winning.

lol 10 pages! You lot are easy to wind up!!

Don't think what im saying is a personal slur against any of these producers far from it this is just my opinion of their music and ill quite happily tell them that to their faces if I meet them and they quiz me about this thread but there's no beef, I wouldn't lose any sleep if any of them told me they thought my tunes were shit either its only music ffs! A bit of brutal honesty never hurt anyone did it?

Actually what i was originally saying was slightly off the mark - its not directly the stupidity of that music that gets on my nerves (stupid but not too stupid can be funny and its great fun to write) its the generic cheesy chavtastic cringeworthiness of it which takes the stupidity to a whole new level. Would it hurt their sales if they learnt some more individual production techniques and turned down the "cringe factor" a bit? Or is it that overload of cheese that makes those tunes so popular?

here is my answer to the wobble overflow :

Soundcloud

Surely, wobble jump up sounds are everywhere and of course there are lot of dudes who replicate sounds etc.
and YES some of them are really really crappy and bleak. (-> THIS IS NOT NEW !!!! )
But i think it makes no sense to offend somebody who's making music or try it.
Is it not better, If you are a famous musician to act as an possitve example ?
You can deffo have your own opinion and in some facts i go with you, but it's
not the right way to post it i suchlike form....

BUT

we can stop all this madness, all the madness with the wobbles, all the shit with dubstep. Its all gotten out of hand. I was angry before, And thats how tony gets sometimes, lets not forget i was in this game since 2003 when dubstep didnt even exist and everyone just called it grime step. Now youve got dj's like rob sparx touring the world playing what they think is called 'DUBSTEP'. Its not. Its actually breakbeat chaos. A chaotic form of breakbeat. The wobble is just a SUB-GENRE of dubstep formed in the midlands. What alot of people believe is dubstep is Mary ann hobbs dubwarz special. That is the only true dubstep because it was a war and wars are official.

TONY
That's actually quite funny! I like you Tony...Can we be friends?
[Alejandro Sosa] I like u tony, theres no lying in u [/Alejandro Sosa]

This thread is overloading with retard views/points, i actually do think that the name dubstep is ruined because of this sort of music and these sort of people posting in this thread. When people used to ask me what sort of music i liked I didn't mind saying dubstep, now I cringe when saying that word. I think that the term 'bass music' is more relevant to what I like. I welcome the devide

I think you need to step back a bit and look at the wider view. To the world outside of the inward-looking circle of dubstepforum, dubstep means Burial, Skream, Digital Mystikz, Kode 9, Caspa, Rusko, Joker, Joy Orbison - i.e. a pretty broad spread! If you say "dubstep" to a reasonably clued-up music fan, the first thing they say ISN'T going to be "oh yeah chainsaw noises and puking samples" is it?

People need to clear their heads about this because the whole debate (the debate, not the music) is tending towards two camps each disappearing up their own arses and that gets nobody anywhere.

Can't you just say "Dubstep" and then if people want you to elaborate on it say "artists like Joe Bloggs, John Smith, y'know, the more chilled kind of stuff."

"Bass music" sounds laughably obnoxious.
