I agree, but I was trying to point out some sort of scientific basis for those that needed empirical evidence to wrap their heads around this sort of concept, hence why I brought up the Drake equation as some sort of mathematical starting point.

yeah the drake equation along with everything there is to know about panspermia is a good place to start

Do you not find it fascinating that the Voyager satellite was sent with a message contained in a golden record for whomever might find it deep in space? Was NASA operating under the assumption that some sort of intelligent life may perhaps discover this deep space satellite?

knell wrote:the Drake equation doesn't account for Time, which is a major factor.
Upon further review, the Drake equation does indeed account for time which is expressed as L in the equation:
The Drake equation states that:
where:
N = the number of civilizations in our galaxy with which communication might be possible;
and
R* = the average rate of star formation per year in our galaxy
fp = the fraction of those stars that have planets
ne = the average number of planets that can potentially support life per star that has planets
fℓ = the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop life at some point
fi = the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop intelligent life
fc = the fraction of civilizations that develop a technology that releases detectable signs of their existence into space
L = the length of time for which such civilizations release detectable signals into space.
The time period previously defined in this equation was 10,000 years. How long would we define this current civilization? Going back to Sumerian times approximately 6000 years ago?

people who still think in terms of time necessary to travel vast distances are stuck inside their 3-d mindset.
a more evolved consciousness will be traveling through the 5th dimension that we are completely oblivious of, much like how a rock is oblivious of the wind, or a tree is oblivious of what cell phone provider i have.

Back to basics man...
Trying to correlate mathematical and scientific studies in regards to these concepts in a way that people may understand (even though the math behind these concepts is quite advanced... then to start talking about multi-dimensional Quantum theory like string theory etc).
My spiritual beliefs and scientific knowledge often do not coincide, but I do believe that mathematics and science may be a fundamental communication tool based on common universal knowledge.

i'm just sayin it makes more sense when you start thinking non euclidian geometry. non linear time.

Time is definitely not linear...

i read some dolores canon, and during a session she was told pretty much that
time is only relative to earth

fixx0r'd
time helps us understand change
change is universal
as is the utter stupidity displayed in this thread

Can winds not move mountains and shape sands?
I'm quite sure a tree was displaced at some point in favor of a cell tower. Fuck man, if Tolkien taught us anything, it's that trees get pissed right the fuck off.
Rather short sided view for someone who is, turned on... IMO.
