shit man this thread was made for me lol
How do you go about making a rise?
ive been trying to create a sound and adjusting the attack and the release but no luck.
The first tune that pops into mind as a reference is bazooka by The Others, right before the drop the a really Hi-freq noise which i beleive is called a rise lol
Any ideas?

Wub's Guide To Making A White Noise Sweep In FL Studio
- Open a copy of 3xOsc, set to one Osc only, white noise generator waveform
- Draw a long (8/16 bar) line, doesn't matter what note
- Route into mixer, and add a Filter
- Create automation on the filter cutoff for the length of the note
- Add reverb/chorus to taste
- Bounce out as audio and save it somewhere so that you never have to go through the process again for this particular sound
Once you've got the basis of this, you can swap out the white noise for another sound (for example a pad), and the filter for another effect (for example flange, panning).
You can also edit the pitch/velocity in the piano roll by selecting the lower of the two boxes, right clicking on the left hand area and selected 'Pitch'. Then draw in a line from bottom left to top right over the course of the pattern, and the pitch will gradually rise as the sound plays. This won't work for white noise, but will for pads/synths etc.
The above effect will give you a white noise crescendo sweep. Experiment with different waveforms to make different sounds, and try automating the pitch of the sample as well. In fact, fuck it - try automating all the different parameters, different effects etc, see what results you get.
If you don't use FL Studio, then any synth with a noise generator waveform on it will be fine. Once you've done a couple of these, bounce out the white noise sample as audio and save it in folder. Then whenever you need one in future, you can load the audio sample directly.

does any one manually copress their sounds?
i automate volumes and eq on certain channels instead of running it through a compression unit.
am i stupid?

not at all!!!
can yield much better results because although compression does get used for levelling sounds automatically reaching for one isn't always the right answer, compression does that levelling in a very particular way. manually automating volume can retain the orignal nature of the sound which compression can sometimes rob.

Would it be easier to identify/remove the source of the interference if possible.

Manual compression is called 'Riding the Fader' and engineers did it in the past for some reason (you could look it up on google).
Riding the Fader would be the search term to use

As said above riding levels is a legitimate technique! I often ride the fader into a compressor. Can be time consuming to ride even peace you want to control, i ride the levels of the major peaks then let gentle compression take car of the rest.

I see, thank's for the information. had a little read on googles first article, seems like a better off way to do things
