Godfather I and II together are the greatest thing i've ever watched.. i really don't think it can even be over-rated imo

As far as overrated, Fight Club --- i'm not saying it isn't good. I think it is terrific. But massively overrated by a lot of people. Also Nightmare before Christmas, Avatar, and basically any 3D movie.

Why all the hate for inception? It was certainly original, and Christopher Nolan brought the same level of mind-fuckery that was present in Memento.

I don't know what my favourite movie is. It's like asking what my favourite tune is. Impossible to answer.

I loved Inception but Memento is probably the best English speaking film from this century so it's on a whole different level.

It's glorious.
And on topic
Gone with the wind.....
And that's it.
I love most movies a lot of people like. And alot they don't, haha. For example, Repo Men. Everyone says it totally sucks, but i quite like it. Morality and love, with an awesome twist.

I guess I should have said 'in my opinion'. I find it to be such an effective combination of form and content.

i know theres already a thread for this but it's humongous and full of decent/ok/bad/great/whatever flicks
Can we get one another's currently rated TOP 3 hands-down best movies? i know favorites change along the way, but choose the ones you feel that way about right now, and try to select the ones you'll always love rather than those you just recently got bedazzled by ..... no more than three, no [ img ] 's just titles. right now mine are

Godfather II
Godfather I
THX 1138

It was pretty cool but I think most people disregard it because it was just the theme and twist from Brazil meets some shot-by-shot action scenes taken from Oldboy with a pretty boy male lead thrown in. I didn't hate it though.

1. Donnie Darko
2.Donnie Darko
3. Donnie Darko

You will notice I have put Donnie Darko thrice. The first is for the movie as a movie - you know acting, film direction, characters/likeability, etc. Failed completely on all counts. The second is for the movie as a concept, the plot doesn't make sense. It's not deep or complex - it literally just doesn't make logical sense. The third is for the extra 2 hours it took me to watch it, having to frequently stop the movie to perform some mundane/inane task because it was so cringngly bad - giving it the time equivalent of watching two films. And this... this is the closest I've ever come to being able to describe the epic shitness of that movie.

1. Scarface (I liked it, but it's not THAT good imo)
2. Any Tim Burton movie
3. resevoir dogs

and to those who listed Inception (obviously I don't really care cuz it's all opinion), but this video on it is actually really interesting, with some cool facts about it.

Actually, I take back my earlier nominations and nominate Withnail and I....such a boring film and the characters are so annoying, but so many people seem to think its the best film ever cos the characters smoke weed and get pissed

YES! I mean I haven't seen it so I can't really comment on how good it is, but what in the fuck do I care about a silent movie? Oh but it's sooo avant garde...

Woah woah woah, I haven't heard about this film let alone seen it but are you guys seriously judging a film purely on the fact it is silent? :|

Watch Metropolis and City Lights and say again how you don't care about a silent film.
